Figment #2 from Marvel sells out in advance

For some reason, Larry’s pick of the week two weeks ago, Figment #1, caused a lot of people to comment against the book. But, then the books old out. Then the variants went nuts on-line. Then the tweets came saying people couldn’t find copies. Then the regular cover book raised in price.
Figment #2 looks to be a winner as well. Bleeding Cool has reported that it is sold out weeks in advance of being released. Pretty good for a book that some doubted people would even buy. The Disney brand is a strong seller, and when they put their might behind a character with a stop ring fan base, sell out issues are the results. A second printing of both Figment #1 and Figment #2 are sure to follow.
And as always, thanks to Larry from www.larryscomics.net for the tip and the pick of the week.

  1. Picked up the last 3 copies of #1 at my LCS this morning. Made it just in time. I’ll admit I didn’t think this book would sell at all, but holy crap.

  2. This is a DREDD UNDERBELLY effect. Its valuable cause its rare cause retailers didn’t order it thinking nobody would actually want it in the first place. And therefore I missed on this one like every other retailer

  3. #1 Regular cover up to $15 on some current auctions as well. Sold listings appear to have a few pushing it a little over the $20 mark.

    1. I plan to buy and hold onto them. It’ll be a small investment that might pay off big in a few years or so. 🙂

  4. I put this one on my pull list the moment I saw the solicitation, as a present for my wife. We are both big disney fans, we visit Disney World every winter. Figment is her favorite character, she even has a figment tattoo. He may be an obscure disney character but disney fans rarely see this character outside of park merchandise, this is a huge collectible for every figment collector. The majority of people buying this may be buying their first comic. This was the first comic I have been able to get my wife to read since we met. It’s also a fun read, anyone familiar with Figment will enjoy this “origin” story. I sure did. So at least for a few months when my monthly pull list box arrives, I have something to hand my wife.
