Bleeding Cool reported that their sources are telling them that Doomsday is set to appear in Batman Vs. Superman Dawn of Justice.
Doomsday, the “killer” of Superman, will appear in the upcoming Batman/Superman film.

Now, of course, much can change in the production process. This may be used purely for flashback purposes on the screen, looking at the life (and death) of Superman. It may be purely for promotional efforts to accompany the film. Or it may not make it to the final cut.
Doomsday first appeared in SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL #17
His fist first appeared.. I still think Man of Steel #18 is the first Full and is more worthy. But that’s just me. 😉
Yes mos 18 is his first full appearance and I agree 100% but for the sake of the posts I use comicvine as an arbitrary source for first appearances, they do not discerned between first cameo and first appearance. I do believe the mos 17 is just Doomsday’s hand.
Oh I know. I like the “first real appearance” debates… Watching people get their underwear all knotted up is just good fun! 🙂
As for MOS #17, yeah, it’s when his fist first punches through the wall. The other Superman Series all had the same thing with the last page showing him pounding away, wasn’t until MOS #17 that it punched through and then MOS #18 First Full Appearance.
I actually stocked up on several MOS #18 when the news first broke (even snagged a CGC 9.8).. I only managed to snag one of the MOS #17 though, those actually seem harder to find since it likely had a smaller print run.
I thought they announced this long ago, hence the jump in the Man of Steel books.
Glad I kept that MOS18 5th print DC Universe UPC edition!
MOS 17 is much harder to find because of lower print run. Hell that book is guided at 50$ on comicspriceguide.com.
MOS 18 had a larger print run and it also produced 4 other printings! the fourth print and especially the 5th print being sought after due to again the runs being very low.
I got 5 copies of 17 and 5 copies of 18 including a 4th and 5th print issue.
The time will come when I cash in!! ;oD
