Comics Picks of the Week for Delivery 8/27/14

Each week, hundreds of new comics hit the stands. each one with potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot of heating up. Here are our picks of the week for 8/27/14:
The overall pick of the week:
Wool #2– Hugh Howey’s hit novel translated into a hit comics. Second issues have smaller print runs. Stores did not have time to up their orders on this book with the surprise sell out of the last issue. Jump on this.
The indy gem:
And Then Emily Was Gone #2– Last one sold out and sold well. Again, second issues have smaller print runs. Larry from Larry’s comics brought this one to our attention and now we are hooked.

Haunted #4– Same story as before. Already optioned by Bryan Singer. Micro-sized print run.
The surprising Marvel one:
Guardians of the Galaxy #18– How did Starlord get back from the Cancerverse? What happened to Nova? Loved the Cancerverse story line and will definitely pick this up.
The new #1’s
Wayward #1– Been called Buffy for a new age. I liked Buffy.
has several covers, including the Phantom Variants and the Third Eye Variant
Sundowners #1– New Tim Seeley horror series.

  1. Wool #2, Wayward Cover B, Jaegir(2000AD) One shot, and Warrior Chicken Poyo 2nd print for me tomorrow. . Also, if you haven’t read warrior chicken poyo…you should. Its hilarious.Happy Hunting guys.

  2. Any speculation on Bob’s Burgers #1, and the rarity of the covers. I picked up 3 different covers today. One is a cover with nothing else on the cover besides the art. The prices on the secondary market seem decent (for now) But I don’t know a lot about this book.

  3. So basically if they’re going to sell at a decent price I should flip them today, since the prices are still looking pretty good.

    1. Ian, if you like the books you should keep them. I know Bob’s Burgers has a following on tv. I always like to take a profit early. If you got a couple of copies sell until you get to your break even point and then you can hold copies for later.
