Diamond Comics Advanced reorder list for 8/16/13

Normally, the Diamond Comics advanced reorder list gives speculators a good idea on what is heating up based on what retailers are scrambling to reorder before final order cut off. This week it tells us only one thing, GET THE 3-D DC covers for yourself and for flipping if you can. All the books have been allocated to stores. You may not get the covers. These books have already started selling for multiple times cover price before they have been released. They are sold out. Standard covers are being sent to fill the demand, but not sure anyone will care about the standard covers.

1. VILLAINS MONTH 3D MOTION COMPLETE SET- Whopping $199.00 set has been pushed back because not enough people had time to get in on them. Was going to be out by Christmas, now it probably won’t. Only Problem, they are 2nd prints of the 3-d covers.
2. BATMAN #23.1 JOKER STANDARD COVER 1st print non 3-d cover, not sure if anyone will care.
3. JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #7.1 DEADSHOT STANDARD COVER
4. JUSTICE LEAGUE #23.1 DARKSEID STANDARD COVER
5. DETECTIVE COMICS #23.1 POISON IVY STANDARD COVER
6. GREEN LANTERN #23.1 RELIC STANDARD COVER
7. BATMAN AND ROBIN #23.1 TWO FACE STANDARD COVER
8. BATMAN THE DARK KNIGHT #23.1 VENTRILOQUIST STANDARD COVER
9. SUPERMAN #23.1 BIZARRO STANDARD COVER
10. FLASH #23.1 GRODD STANDARD COVER
11. EARTH 2 #15.1 DESAAD STANDARD COVER
12. JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK #23.1 CREEPER STANDARD COVER
13. ACTION COMICS #23.1 CYBORG SUPERMAN STANDARD COVER
14. GREEN ARROW #23.1 COUNT VERTIGO STANDARD COVER

15. X-MEN BATTLE OF ATOM #1
16. INFINITY #2 – Marvel’s mega-event rolls on, I always get suckered in to these.
17. STAR WARS #1 – George Lucas’ original screen play in comic form. This will be fun to see all the differences in the characters we have known and loved. Check out the link for the sweet TFAW variant cover.
18. FOREVER EVIL #1 – This is the beginning of the MASSIVE 3-d cover event (and fiasco) expect all 3-d covers to be hot.
19. TRILLIUM #2– Vertigo has been knocking it out of the park lately. Trillium sold well and featured a cool concept in a flip book that connected the two halves of the stories. Really innovative.
20. SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #17 – Spider-Ock continues to be hot
21. X-MEN BATTLE OF ATOM #1 (OF 2) DEADPOOL STRUTS VARIANT – I know people love Deadpool but I think these are getting out of hand.
22. ALL NEW X-MEN #16 X-Men Battle of the Atom crossover.
23. WALKING DEAD HC VOL 09
24. TRINITY OF SIN PANDORA #2 2ND PRINT
25. INJUSTICE GODS AMONG US #6 2ND PRINT- Injustice has been the best selling best performing DC mini-series in a long time. The fact that people keep missing out on the 1st prints baffles me.

  1. Hope I can get my hands on some of these 3D covers, but looks like it will be tough. The owner of my local comic book store said he is only getting one 3D copy for the price of $300. YIKES 🙁
As for the standard covers don’t think I’ll be getting any of those.

  2. the shop i go to told me to day that some of the Justice League of America ones and lobo they will not be getting a lot of because they only order for subscribers on theses titles!i have a sneaky feeling that going to be the case for this line of #1 3D covers,so it might be in your best interest to pick up titles that most collectors wont be going after meaning i would bet there were far les printed then say the jokers daughter was!im pretty sure there’s going to be more TWO FACES printed then say……..DESAAD or GRODD or even CREEPER?????

    1. Remember though, just because there’s less of something doesn’t make it more valuable, the demand has to be there as well. I think ultimately, even if say more Joker ones are printed over Creeper (as an example), there will still be likely more demand for Joker over Creeper since more people are familiar with the Joker.

There’s a reason you can find low print comics in the $0.50 – $1.00 bins, because there’s little demand for them.
