I know people laugh at kids comics being valuable or collectible, but I can say that I sold a ton of My Little Pony #1 Phantom Variants when they came out. Almost 99% went to adult males, as the Bronie culture (which I am NOT a part of) is so big. I caught a lot of flack from people in stores when I was picking the books up, but when they found out how much money I had been making off them, they picked up a couple too.

Funny, my wife Laughs and makes comments on books I buy like My little pony, adventure time, regular show and Archie, I always come out on top with kids books. The market is strange, but honestly in the Last year Ive made a lot of money on these comics alone. I always imagine a grown man sitting in a rocker just reading a my little pony lol
I saw a documentary the other night on Bronie culture. I am a comic book nerd, I know it, and try not to pass judgement on other nerd cultures, but man it was strange.
It started off as a joke on 4chans /b/ board. then a bunch of autistic people took it to heart, and it grew from there. i wouldn’t call bronie nerd culture, and im not trying to be mean, but most of the people who like it are autistic.
Never heard that. Saw a documentary the other night and there is a huge scene, musicians do songs about pony life, and all sorts of other goings on. Didn’t see the autism angle though.
