Superbowl Commercials and Comic Book Speculation

Well the game was not very exciting, especially when if you were a Denver fan. I am not a fan of either team so I didn’t care about the game. There was some great comic book movie commercials that could lead to speculation.
First up, Transformers: Age of Extinction

I know what you are thinking, UGH, another one. But with a change of cast, and the introduction of the fan favorite Dinobots, (or the fact the Superbowl party had lots of yummy beers), made me check eBay for the first comic book appearance of Dinobots. That would be Transformers #8 from Marvel. Copies can be found cheap. I am not expecting a home run on these, but the Marvel series is still awesome. Copies can be found as cheap as starting at .99 cents.
Next up, Captain America Winter Soldier

We get the Marvel Movie-verse first appearances of Bucky as Winter Soldier and Falcon.
Copies of Captain America #1 start at below $5. His other significant appearance is in Captain America #6 (2005) can be had for under $5, some with .99 starts.
The first Falcon, goes for considerably more, but could still very well go up still in price.
Captain America #117 is the first Falcon.
Of course, there was the Amazing Spiderman trailer as well, but the first appearance of the characters are well above the normal spec range for me. First movie appearances for Electro, Gwen Stacy, Rhino, and rumor has a few more (there are supposed Easter eggs for Venom (who has previously appeared) and Morbius the Living Vampire).
Here is the trailer all the same.

Tomorrow, some DC TV specs.

  1. I think the first issue in the Captain America volume in 2005 may have the first Winter Soldier. I don’t own either issue, but eBay sellers are noting both are the 1st appearance. A Marvel wiki also states #1.

    1. Yup,
First appearance as Winter Soldier was in Captain America #1 in 2005 (Volume 5).
First appearance as Bucky was in Captain America #1 (1941).
And he was even Captain America briefly, assuming the role in #34 in Volume 5.

  2. I know this is off topic but I was at my local Hastings store and saw a few of Night of the Living Deadpool Hastings variant on sale for $3.99. Just wanted to put the word out so check your local stores if you have them.
