Second Walking Dead Show gets green light

Deadline.com is reporting that the Spin off for the Walking Dea has been green lighted.

AMC gave an indication that the project is intended to go to series, describing the order as a “pilot episode.” Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert from The Walking Dead are also executive producers of the new show which, like the original, is being produced by AMC Studios. Dave Erickson (Marco Polo), who co-created and co-wrote the pilot with Kirkman, will serve as an executive producer and showrunner.

While it has not been said if characters from the comic will appear, you can bet that demand for the comic will continue to rise. I wouldn’t be surprised if a second comic set in the world of the spin off appears.

  1. didnt they say right from the start that this would be a completely new cast of characters apart from the comic? he said something about not wanting to be constrained by a comic book when making a tv show. as for making a comic based on the tv show, i dont see it right away as the comic would at some point pass up the show, again creating the problem Kirkman wants to get away from.
