From Deadline:

2oth Century Fox has made test deals with a small group of actresses for the female lead opposite Ryan Reynolds on Deadpool, based on the character he originated in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Morena Baccarin, who played the long-suffering wife of POW-turned-terrorist Brody in Showtime’s Homeland and who also starred in V; Taylor Schilling, from Orange Is The New Black and who was just see at Sundance in The Overnight; Crystal Reed from Teen Wolf and Crush; and Rebecca Rittenhouse, who made a splash in the Fox series The Red Band Society.

It is early to guess at who the actresses could be testing for, but two of the possible characters are Dr. Betty, who first appeared in Deadpool Merc With a Mouth #1 or possibly (especially from looking at the picture above) Domino who first appeared in X-Force #11. Any other female Deadpool characters that they could possibly be testing for, let us know.

  1. She was also in Firefly and is currently in Gotham so she has a solid sci-fi/comic background and fan base – I hope she gets the roll – I like her quite a bit.

  2. Vanessa was Deadpools pre and post healing factor girlfriend. Sandi (something) was deadpools manager for some time.

  3. Funny, I know her from Stargate, Firefly and Gotham and none of that is mentioned in her write up. She also did voice overs for animated Batman and Justice League shows.

  4. Yeah, I would think Vanessa Carlysle (Copycat/Domino) would be a good guess. Thinking ahead, that might also make X-Force #19 a desirable key issue (as it’s the first appearance of Vanessa as Copycat).

      1. No doubt. Stan Lee is supposed to be there as well. As is Robin Lord Taylor (I’m digging his Penguin on Gotham!)
