Michael Moreci’s Roche Limit optioned

Get ready for a ton of SDCC news. Especially movie and tv show options. This could be a great time to sell comics and raid stores to make a little profit.

Michael Moreci’s Roche Limit has been optioned by Heavy Metal for a movie. Heavy Metal has gone through some changes recently (magazine that is) including having Grant Morrison coming on board.

From CBR:

Heavy Metal has optioned the movie rights to the Image Comics series “Roche Limit,” fast-tracking the sci-fi story’s development process.

The comic, created by Michael Moreci, was released as a five-issue miniseries in 2014; a follow up miniseries is currently being published, with plans for a third and final series to follow. The option, which will adapt the first mini’s story, is the second one for Moreci at Heavy Metal, with his co-creation, the Heavy Metal published “Hoax Hunters,” already in development with the media company.

Near Mint Copies of Roche Limit are available at Mycomicshop for around cover price. eBay has Roche Limit #1 for $2.50 with a CGC 9.8 going for about $17 in auction with 21 hours left. TFAW has issue 2-5 for 20% off cover price.

Lots of cheap books here.

  1. Variant folks, there’s also a couple of Phantom’s to look for, and gohastings still have their copies for sale.

  2. Did this ever get any better after issue #1? I was not that impressed with issue 1 so I dropped it quickly.

    1. It started off good for me but quickly faded before the mini series ended. I loved the premise but for me the story was pretty predictable and bland. I hope the movie has an improved story to the Roche Limit backdrop.
