AGENT POYO’S PICKS OF THE WEEK FOR DELIVERY 9/23/15

Wednesday, the best day every week. Even if it ends up being a smaller week, just the thought of running to the comic book store for new books make the day great.
This week is small for me, I think I only have 10 books I’m going to be picking up as there aren’t really many variants either that I’m eye balling.
Regardless of what I’m picking up, here’s my picks for the week:

The already mentioned but you should pick up if you can find it pick:
Scooby Doo Team Up #12 (DC) – With a HQ appearance, people have already gobbled these up from online retailers. Expect small print run. Find it, sell it, make your $10 off it and be done with it.

The Indie Pick of the week:
Pitiful Human Lizard #1 (Chapter House Productions) – Looks entertaining. Digging the classic old cover as well for one of it’s regular A or B covers. It also has a 3rd Cover C but I have yet to find what it looks like.

Another smaller press possibly future gem of the week:
Seven Percent #1 (Red 5) – Future, cryptic super software, psion machines.. yeah, sign me up. Red 5 has been known to pump out some nice titles that end up with media deals, so don’t pass this one up, could have flip potential down the road.

That’s it for me this week.

          1. I know. You know the funny thing, I lived in Dallas most of my life and I remember going to one of their original stores in Arlington area long ago, before this thing, the interwebs.

    1. Haha, nice. I hadn’t had a chance to check out Midtown today (freaking busy at work, building postgresql database standby HA servers.. ughh), they usually update the cover picks on Tuesdays.

      1. I just ordered about 10 books from the Monday night. I haven’t had a problem with their shipping yet. Usually order a large amount of books at a time and they come boxes. Inside the box they are shrink wrapped with oversized cardboard. But that is for multiple issues (10-20) not sure how their 1-5 issues come shipped.

      2. Sounds like they changed it maybe. They use to stick the comic on a piece of cardboard the same exact size as the comic (so no extra cushion), wrap with plastic and just throw in a envelope mailer. My main issue was, their freaking double standard they have. You can’t post on your website you “guarantee the comics free from damage” but then tell the customer to eff off when it does happen. So yeah, they lost me for life and yeah, I’m gonna keep on spreading the worse word about them unless they want to publicly apologize, perhaps kiss my ass.. then maybe.. maybe I’ll stop talking crap about them. 😉

  1. I have moved couple of servers and yeah I know what Poyo is talking about. I don’t have to start them up from the ground up like he probably does but just remembering where every connection goes to it is a pain in the brain lol. I have seen couple of IT dudes installing them from ground up and man they say they have worked 18 hrs straight cuz they have to have the building up and running the next day. Crazy crazy……

  2. I’m right there with you poyo, whenever I e-mailed mycomicshop about comics that arrived damaged, they would say I could return them no problem. Then one day I went to log into my account and it didn’t work, so I e-mailed them and they said my account was cancelled because I returned too many damaged comics. After that I declared shenanigans on that company and now shop at midtown, which seems to have an overall better record of getting my comics to me undamaged.
