  1. Slow week but a good week. This week’s picks are;

Harley Quinn and Power Girl #4 ( for the wife)
    Scooby-Doo Team-Up #12 ( 3 copies. 1 for the wife, 1 for myself, and 1 to spec.)
    deadpool vs Thanos #2
    Book of death #3
Book of death legend of the geomancer #3
    Enormous #2
Seven percent #1 ( from Poyo’s pick. It got my attention so hopefully it’s good).

Also picked up deadpool vs Thanos #1 action figure variant since I didn’t get it last time.

So I don’t know if you guys remember that 2 weeks ago I bought my kid a Star Wars book. So he read the first 10 pages and said he didn’t like it and started to read teen titan go! Wow such a shocker. I thought this book would work but I was wrong. But I will not give up. I will keep showing him the ways of the force……

  2. I have Salt Lake Comic Con this week so unfortunately, my holds will be keeping warm in my pull box for about 10 days.

Deadpool Vs. Thanos #2: I was going through some “Deadpool vs.”-fatigue, but this is a story I have actually always wanted and never knew it. I’m excited to see where this goes. If anything, it will be a fun ride!

Inhumans: Attilan Rising #5: Things got really intriguing once we figured out why Black Bolt was being such a Chatty Cathy!

Star Wars: Kanan: The Last Padawan: The Long Star Wars Title: The Return of the Long Titles: The Returnining #6: This is teetering on being dropped from my weekly pulls, but I just can’t bring myself to do it. I’m more of an original trilogy guy than a prequel guy, but I pull everything Star Wars. I can see Kanan’s appeal. He’s the scoundrel the prequel universe needed.

Weirdworld #4: I’m so glad this is back on schedule. Excited for the plague of Secret Wars delays to be done. This is one of the great Secret Wars titles to come out of this event. This, Seige, and Secret Wars have to be the top Secret Wars books.

Fight Club 2 #5: That last Comics Authority Splash page in #4 reignited my curiosity here. I gotta. This is a bit of a roller coaster ride; I’m up on it; I’m down.

Wolf #3: Yeah, I’m that guy. I’m gutting through the lisping and Scottis speech bubble because this type of weirdness is right up my alley. Hello, PREACHER in L.A.

Book of Death #3: And the award for most manageable event ever goes to……..Valiant!

Book of Death: Legends of the Geomancer #3: This has actually been a superior book to the “Fall of…” One-Shots in my opinion. Great “ancient history” in here!

Pitiful Human Lizard #1 (Chapter House): Sure, why not!

Tony and Poyo got me Speccing on Scooby Doo!

    1. One stop this morning where I’ve been getting my Book of Death: Legends of the Geomancer books did not get them today. I was getting them at cover. I do not want to pay Midtown prices or inflated variant prices.

I also agree, Valiant does very well on it’s comic story events.

  3. Enormous V2 #2 (of 6) (Cover A – Cheggour)
    Oddly Normal #10 (Cover A/ Cover B
Over The Garden Wall #2 Regular Cover/ Sub Cover)
    Power Up #3 (of 6)
Rivers Of London #3 (of 5)

  4. Fight Club 2 #5
    Batman 66 #27
    Invisible Republic #6
    Manhattan Projects #3
    Nameless #6
    Rumble #7
    Thief of Thieves #31
    Tithe #5
    Weirdworld #4
    Book of Death #3
    Seven Percent #1
    Pitiful Human Lizard #1

    1. You’ll be happy to hear that I picked up Bloodshot Reborn #6 yesterday. Read it while getting my oil changed. I think the second arc is off to a good start from this first issue. Still not on my pull list, but not dead to me yet. Thanks for getting me to take a second look.

      1. Yeah, it’s not on my pull either.. I’m still enjoying it, but no comic is safe except a few that will likely always be on my pull list unless the writer and artist just really start sucking balls! 🙂

    2. So Enormous did hit some shelves today but something is wrong.. very very wrong. One shop only got 2 copies of I think Cover A. My other shop got only 5 copies of Cover A. Midtown doesn’t even have them listed either. I hate Diamond!

  5. No Enormous in NYC for me ..
    5 copies of Scooby-Doo ..I had 6 but I gave one to a kid
Pitiful Human Lizard Red AND incentive
He-Man The Eternity War #10..IF THIS WAS A VARIANT This would of been a pick pf the week ..I LOVE THIS COVER

    1. Neither shop I visited had Pitiful Human Lizard. Both only had like two issues of Scooby-Doo and they were gone quick.

  6. Honestly this is a really small week for me. I will go to my comic shop later today to get my haul and see if I can score Scooby-Doo team up.

    Pull list:
Batgirl #44 – Fun read every month, art is unique and the story is fun.
    1872 #3 – I’m behind on this, I haven’t read issue #2 yet and I thought issue #1 was rather plain.
Book of Death #3 – This event has made me a huge valiant fan! The art is beautiful and the writing is spectacular.
Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps #4 – I think that this series has lost steam. I liked it at the beginning but now I’m not so excited to read it. I think I may just have Secret Wars fatigue.
Deathstroke #10 – I’m honestly only picking this up because I want to finish this story arc. I invested so much money on this story arc, so I must finish it.
Gotham By Midnight #9 – I’m sad that this is ending because it has been such a great series
Grayson #12 – This is my most anticipated issue of this week. Grayson is back in Gotham!
    Previews – Monthly pick up
    Runaways #4 – I haven’t been loving the
Aq art but the story really good
We Are Robin #4 – I like the story a lot but the art for this issue looks too bright
Weirdworld #4 – Art is gorgeous and the story is well crafted
    Any recommendations?

      1. UPDATE: I went to my comic shop and picked up some extras!
My comic shop orders a lot of everything so I didn’t see anything sold out, the biggest disappointment sales wise was Power3 (Power Cubed).
        Extras I picked up:
The Beauty #1 – Had to see what all the hype was about
        Scooby-Doo Team-Up #12 – Quick Flip (I got the last one)
Mockingbird #1 – I’ve been waiting for my comic shop to restock on this for a while

Fun Fact: The writer of Zodiac Starforce works at my comic shop!

  7. Picking up:
    Over the Garden Wall
    Fight Club
    Avatar the Last Airbender
    Hellboy
    Scooby Doo Team Up

Picked up this weekend at Rose City Comic Con:
We Can Never Go Home 1-4 (Matthew Rosenberg was at the RCCC signing the latest printings. Unfortunately, all copies of issues 1 & 2 had color breaking corner bends. I don’t know if this was intentional or not. His booth had absolutely no lines. I walked by several times and only ever saw two other people talking to him. It makes me wonder about the sustainability of speculation on this title.)

I also dropped off my two copies of Batman Adventures 12 and The Crow 1 3rd printing to get pressed and slabbed. I love the cover of The Crow 1. I regret selling my 1st printing about 13 years ago, but it was probably best in the long run since my ex-wife stole a bunch of my comics (including my Amazing Spider-man 31) to sell for drug money. I recently read that the 3rd printing of The Crow 1 was only 500 copies.

      1. Now to figure out what to do with it. With the art being different, I’ll have to decide on whether or not to slab it. Anyone know the print run? I saw somewhere a while back that it was 200.

      1. ? Still kind of letting it sink in. Funny thing is that yesterday I read the copies of current printings I got signed at RCCC. If I had found it last week I could have taken advantage of signature series grading.

  8. Found 12 scooby doo team up #12 between 3 shops.Don’t forget toys r us will have a few newstand variants in the next few weeks.Pitiful Human Lizard #1a. And finally Head Lopper on reorder today.

  9. My score of the day was only going $10 over budget. That’s a huge plus for me. I always list what I’m going to pick up but I usually end up doubling that number with extra copies, variants, etc.

  10. I assume others have noticed how crazy the sale prices have been for Captain Marvel 17 2nd Print lately?

Just curious about yall’s thoughts on what to do with this book. Sell now? Keep? I love the character and it’s definitely a book a want for my own collection so I’m trying to figure out the chances of being able to pick up a copy in the future for less than they’re going for now.

Love to hear from you guys/gals.

    Excelsior!

    1. This one is a tough one but honestly, I’d sell it if I had one. I’m not big on her character and the potential to sell a $3 or $4 comic for $300 or more, count me in. Honestly, you’re likely seeing the peak prices right now, this will likely level off of fall back to real world prices eventually. But you know, that’s just all prediction, which no one can honestly do accurately.. predictions are just lucky guesses when you do get it right.

      1. you’re probably right. i was pissed about spending $35 on my copy a few months back but didn’t feel so bad when they all shot up to $100+ like 5 minutes later. only thing that gives me trepidation about letting it go is that i think the 2nd print was a super low run. seems like low print run + key issue SHOULD = staying power. but like you said, it’s all prediction. any idea what this book’s print run was compared to EOSV 2?

        1. The 1st print run was 18,173. The second print didn’t even make the list in December of 2013 which would put it’s total print run number under the 1300 mark.

EOSV was I think in the 40k-50k print run range. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th prints were way under that number but everyone demands the first print for that one.
