Baltimore Comic Con Kicks off with Retailer Dinner

Baltimore Comic Con kicked off Wednesday night with the annual retailer dinner and happy hour. The dinner not only marks the beginning of the convention, but Diamond Comic Distributor’s retailers summit.

One of my favorite conventions is the Baltimore Comic Con. Part of the reason I like it is the show is still not about TV and movies but about the comics. Sdcc and NYCC have become big multimedia events, and while Baltimore has its own share of actors and actresses, it is still a comic convention.
I was very happy to be on hand for it, along with Mel V., and Beau from Minty Fresh Comics. Also ran in to Ray from RJ’s Comics and Toys.
The event took place at Geppi’s Comic Book Museum in Baltimore. One of the highlights, besides the open bar and food, was Frank Cho on hand signing the Baltimore Comic Con Variant of hos new book, Skybourne.

The museum itself is a big draw, and if you get the chance, check it out. The collection of comics and pop culture memorabilia is amazing.
Amanda Connor had a display of original art showcased, and while I didn’t get as many pictures as I would have liked, check out some of her cover art below:
