Diamond Comics Distributors have announced their top selling products for October 2016. Here are the top selling comics for October:

The Marvel universe’s teenaged heroes form their own super-team in the wake of Civil War II in Mark Waid and Humberto Ramos’ Champions #1 from Marvel Comics, the best-selling comic book of October 2016 in terms of dollars invoiced, while BOOM! Studios’ Big Trouble in Little China/Escape from New York #1, a crossover between two classic John Carpenter films starring Kurt Russell, was October’s best-selling comic book by units sold, according to information provided by Diamond Comic Distributors, the world’s largest distributor of comics, graphic novels, and pop culture merchandise.

Sales for individual comics were up across the board. Sales for comics were up 18.42% in dollars over September 2016 (up 18.38% units), up 5.74% over October 2015 (13.61% up in units), and up 3.59% (2.86% units) year to date vs this time last year. On the flip side, graphic novel sales were down in all three categories.

  1. A common question is what comics to speculate on? One way is to examine Diamond’s top 100 sellers and pick key back issues that may be undervalued. For example, I brought mint NYX #3 for $10 years ago.

      1. Yup. Sadly, Big Trouble in Little China was an awesome read until they switched writers from John Carpenter. I dropped it immediately after Carpenter stopped writing it.
