American Gods #1 and #2 fully returnable and Ashcan released to stores

American Gods, the comic book adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s novel, is coming out from Dark Horse comics in March and could be a good pick up. Retailers got two things in the mail that could be of interest as well.
Like I mentioned, the American Gods comic is an adaptation of the book by Gaiman, which is also being adapted into a tv show. Previous comic adaptations of books, which are being adapted into other medias have done well. Strain comes to mind, as does Dark Towers.
And as I also mentioned, Retailers got two things in the mail in relation to the book. The first thing they got was a letter stating that that issue one and issue two are fully returnable. Dark Horse is throwing some weight behind the book and since they believe in it doing well, put their money where their mouths are allowing retailers to return unsold copies of the book.

The second thing they received was an ashcan comic version of American Gods. Similar to what they did with Briggs Land, they released the smaller sized comic to retailers to preview. Some ashcans have made it to eBay. This being the first comic appearance of the characters and story (I know it was a novel first), and could be worth the couple of bucks they are selling for.

  1. I also cant wait for this. Loved the novel. This being turned in a mini-series AND comic series. Good Omens (my favorite) being turned into a TV series too. This is Gaiman’s year!!! About time too 🙂

  2. Looking forward to this. Really liked the novel. Looking forward to the show too.
Oh, and I got one of the ashcans!
