Old Guard #1 goes back for 3rd print

Image Comics is pleased to announce that THE OLD GUARD from Eisner Award-winning writer Greg Rucka (BLACK MAGICK, LAZARUS) and artist Leandro Fernández (THE DISCIPLINE) is being rushed back to print in order to keep up with increasing customer demand.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed last week that THE OLD GUARD movie rights have been picked up by Skydance Media with Rucka attached to write the script adaptation.
THE OLD GUARD, the story of old soldiers who never die…and yet cannot seem to fade away. Trapped in an immortality without explanation, Andromache of Scythia—“Andy”—and her comrades ply their trade for those who can find—and afford—their services. But in the 21st century, immortality is a hard secret to keep, and when you live long enough, you learn that there are many fates worse than death.
THE OLD GUARD #1, 3rd printing (Diamond code: FEB178709) and THE OLD GUARD #2, 2nd printing (Diamond Code: FEB178710) will be available on Wednesday, May 3rd. The final order cutoff deadline for retailers is Monday, April 10th.
THE OLD GUARD #3 (Diamond Code: FEB170666) will be available on Wednesday, April 26th.

  1. Nice.. my local shop still has a huge stack of 1st and 2nd prints.. I keep on walking past them too..

      1. I just don’t have that gut feeling with this book or Lazarus…. I’m gonna continue to pass…. I hope I’m wrong though and you people make money but I just lost faith with Rucka… His writing just falls flat for me….

    1. My shop also has first printings. I went ahead and picked up a copy, along with Extremity #1 first printing. It was a pretty good read.

    2. Same here. I read issue 1 and wasn’t really feeling it. Felt like Im missing the hype train on this or something, because I don’t get it.

      1. I liked it. The artists style is a little hard for me but when the got mowed down by machine guns, regenerated, and realized they had been set up, I figured I was in for a couple of issues.

      2. Agree with Anthony. Liked the story but the art is just meh for me. Except for the issue 2 variant which is really nice (but that has no impact on the interiors lol)

  2. I enjoyed the read despite the art not really being my style, I’m hoping that they do not drop the ball with the backstory cause I think that’s where we can really relate with the characters.
