Mel V.'s Variant Picks of the Week for 4/26/17

What Up CHU? Mel V. here with your weekly variant picks, I’m excited about East Coast Comic Con coming up this Saturday and Sunday at the Meadowlands Exposition Center, I had a great time at last year’s show. Ton of nice pickups, let’s see if I can find my elusive Tsum Tsum #4 there. Last week the clear cut winner was World Reader 1:10 variant still showing legs right around the $40 range, nice pick up if ya got it for cheap last week. Let’s get right into this week’s list

Action Comics Vol 2 #978 Cover B Variant Gary Frank Cover (Superman Reborn Aftermath Tie-In) – Pretty stylish Variant reminding me of the Old Superman movie with Christopher Reeves (That was my generations Superman for all you young whipper snappers) cool 1:1 variant selling for right around $3.00

Deadpool vs Punisher #2 Cover C Incentive Howard Chaykin Variant Cover – This series got off to a surprisingly good start for me, I also like the wackiness of this cover. Typical Deadpool. Prices for this are all over the place from $10.00 – $29.99. Curious to see where this ends up

Elektra Vol 4 #3 Cover B Incentive Variant Cover – Elektra variants are 2 for 2 in the great flip department, I think they will go 3 for 3 this week. DEODATO has also been on a bit of a nice cover run as of late. Currently sold for $59.99. One on eBay at the time I write this. Definitely the one to watch this week

Mighty Thor Vol 2 #18 Cover B Variant Ryan Stegman Resurrxion Cover – Just a fantastic looking cover. Cable is about to be red hot in 3 … 2… 1. Find these and grab em and hold em. Selling currently for $5.00 but the $10 listings are starting to pop up

Old Man Logan Vol 2 #22 Cover C Incentive Christopher Stevens Variant Cover – A great looking action cover. Love the reflection of Wendigo, in the claws, a nice little homage. Currently selling for $24.99, however I can see this one moving up

Savage Dragon Vol 2 #223 Cover B Variant Erik Larsen April Fools Cover – As soon as I saw this cover I was like “Ohhhh Sweeeeet” let me get one. And guess what… they are all gone from online retailers. I grabbed one off the Bay. Now I see one listed on eBay. Some have sold for $3.99 and sets of both covers for $7..hmmm

Suicide Squad Vol 4 #16 Cover B Variant Lee Bermejo Cover – GREAT COVER SWIPE, GREAT COVER, GREAT ARTIST, T-SHIRT WORTHRY. This is a no brainer pick up. CHU gave you the heads up on this one early. Currently selling for $10 -$14. A Cover of the year candidate

Weapon X Vol 3 #2 Cover B Incentive Eric Canete Variant Cover (Resurrxion Tie-In) – Now this is a bad ass cover right here. It reminds me of the “Straight Outta Compton” cover and the A Force Hughes Hip Hop remake. I want it… selling currently from $20-$29.99

WWE #4 Cover F Incentive Frazer Irving Forever Sting Virgin Variant Cover – This is going to go great with my Sting WonderCon Venice Beach Variant (Thanks Big Leggs). I love the dark gritty look Sting has on this one. – Sold for $34.99 there are listings for up to $45.00

X-Men Gold #2 Cover B Incentive Adi Granov Variant Cover (Resurrxion Tie-In) – Another artist that has been on a tear lately with great covers is Adi Granov…his Royals last week was preselling up to $70, but it has since cooled off. However, its starting to go back up. This weeks offering has Old Man Logan and Storm in a great action pose. Sold for as high as $39.99 listings now are $45 and above.
