  1. This brings back so many great memories of the 80’s. I was lucky enough to pick up a NM+ copy of Macross #1 from Comico about a year ago and it is one of my favorite books in my PC. The new series is written by Brian Wood (Dark Horse Star Wars, DMZ, Briggs Land)? I’m definitely in!

    1. I am looking forward to this, and with an Artgerm regular cover…. I also was a huge fan of the toys as a kid. I loved Robotech and wanted to be Rick Hunter. On a side note, some of the early 80’s transformers were Japanese Robotech toys.

  2. Anthony,
Don’t get me started! I also loved watching after school Star Blazers (Space Battleship Yamato). When I was a kid, i wanted to fly the Argo. The Wave Motion Gun was the coolest thing!

  3. I ordered the Artgerm cover, guess I need to order the #1Lynn variant. The others are all B covers, so that should be the tough one to make the set.

  4. Carl Macek owned a local comic book store when I first started collecting. although he sold it right around that time due to his success with Robotech… my friends knew him fairly well and when we would go to a convention that he was at he would always let us hang out with him for a little while and talk to us about all the cool things going on with comics and anime at the time…The city over at another local comic shop was where Rob Liefeld worked. Extremely nice guy and never shunned new/young collectors! Enjoyed helping them out (including me) when a question would come up…That and Stan Lee was at almost all of the local LA conventions at the time and was beyond easy to approach (no security or assistants surrounding him)… Gotta say, sometimes one truly doesn’t know how good things were until they are gone, but wow, did I get into collecting at the right time! Good memories!
