Agreed. …why even make this cover? What is the point? I think this move will actually hurt this title rather than increase sales. Pretty low brow…..
I’m still surprised this title is still going. One of my shops doesn’t even order it to my knowledge.

Because Larson has been trying to push the envelope for a while He got a European porn comic artist to do it.
I don’t know anyone who reads this title either. What they should be doing is more cover art like the April Fool’s Jock Variant—very clever and a great looking cover—THAT will increase sales.
I read it for a long time. Larson got too political for me.
Have to agree…His stuff just plain wasn’t fun to read anymore.
Not impressed, this is just blantent porn and isn’t going make me want to buy it … plain old desperate in my opinion
WOW!! I can’t believe that Image is getting away with that cover. But yet DC wasn’t able to print the killing Joke Batgirl cover. What a shame!
I’ve agreed with you about a lot of things, Jesus, but on this one I’ve got to disagree. DC pulled the, “Killing Joke,”-themed Batgirl cover because fans were offended by how the imagery suggested a sexual overtone of no consent. Batgirl was tied-up and the Joker was pointing a gun down toward her crotch in a menacing manner. It was up to DC to pull the cover and they did, and I see why. This cover, as explicit as it, clearly shows everyone consenting and having great time, so while it is 100 times more racy than the, Batgirl cover with its sexual connotations, the vague suggestion of sexual assault was what upset many, I feel. Do I make any sense or do you just think I’m rambling?

I think the point of this was to get people talking about Savage Dragon again and it worked.

Meh… My opinion only but I thought Larson had more respect for his creations than to have it now equate to little more than a desperate cash grab. I’m sure it will sell but I doubt it will bring in any new readers…If anything, long term, the reader base might decrease.

Eh, it doesn’t strike me as any more racy than the variant covers the publisher Boundless sometimes does. It’s clearly over-the-top but that’s the point and if it sells enough copies to turn a profit for Larsen and Image, I suppose they’ll be happy!
I have never understood why boobs and dicks et al are censored. But killing humans and destroying life is perfectly acceptable. mind boggled

this cover is#awesomesauce. I ordered ten copies of it .really don’t think it is thatoffensive at all . I can write,direct,produce,star&distrubite anentire fan faction fanf ilm straight from this cover alone . but that’s just me as I eat this stuff up . and savage dragon has always been at the middle to the bottom of the top 300 diamond best sellers list . a decent flagship and image original creation with and this what I respect the most no relaunch no renumbering no big two b.s. attached just a old school comic book but then again your listening to someone that is trying to figure out who owns the rights to cherry pop tart and that line of comics to nogate a film deal . I stopped supporting anything Larson does around election time… not because of his views, but because of his constant complaining. I won’t support this either. I unfollowed him on Twitter and will not purchase anything he produces anymore. Message to Artist and Celebs…. I don’t follow you to read 99% politics and 1% “the stuff your famous for”.
I agree with you. I hate politics in comics and hate seeing comic creators blabbing about their politics, even if I agree with them.
