Wednesday Winner: Weapon X #7

It is nice to walk into your local comic shop on a Wednesday and pick up your books. It is even nicer that by the end of the week some of those books sell for multiple times cover price. Weapon X #7 is one of those books.
Recently closed sales have ended for as high as closed as high as $15 , prices have slid slightly as some people have sold them as low as cover price (shaking my head on that seller). Bundled sets have been doing extremely well, people adding Weapon X and Totally Awesome Hulk books together and selling parts of the story line.
Copies of Exiles #86 and Secret Wars Battle World #3 have also been moving as people are getting swept up in the Hulk/Wolverine Mashup craze.
(This should have been up a few days ago but I have been sidelined.)

    1. You can tell they literally added the white to keep the writers/artists name in black along with the barcode, etc.

      1. At least it’s the same dimensions as the triangle formed by the x on the opposite corner. *Shrug emoji*
(I don’t know hot to do real emojis so that will have to do)

        1. Yeah.. the white doesn’t bother me that much to be honest.
But also, when I don’t know how to do the right code for emoji’s, I revert to ascii text..
          ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ = IDK Shrug Emoji

      1. I agree Anthony. Now is the time to flip WX #7 before many read it. Make that money. lol I know it’s the first full of the alter ego of Weapon H but that’s like saying which book would you rather have: 1st Eddie Brock or first Venom. In the long run it’ll have a slight bump in value. Also, I hate that it looks like they are steering Weapon H into hero territory. We need great Villains.

  1. I think weapon H should go up against whatever versions showed up in Exiles #86 and Battleworld #3…..Hey, it’s just as good an idea as anything Marvel has been putting out!….Have Squirrelgirl and baby Groot show up for some stupid reason, con Jim Lee into doing the cover and you have an instant modern classic…….Sigh.

    1. The Cosmic Weaponvenomizedsquirreldr.spidergwenroot will be Marvels next big character. Will come with lenticular glow in the dark foil extra gloss virgin homage pop up book store exclusive cover ?

      1. Yeah but they’ll make you order the square root of the closine of the tangents of the circumference of your store percent more than your order of their last three relaunches just to be allowed to order them. Then they’ll be allocated anyways so you still won’t get one.

      2. Brennan, don’t forget, you have to stand on one foot while balancing a bowling ball on your head while hula hooping when you make your order to qualify as well.

      3. Y’know there is a Marvel comics exec reading this right now just drooling over all the”great” ideas he is going to steal.

      4. Me too. I love the baby teeth #2 by Frankie’s comics, preordered the coming Deadman glow n Dark. Have a couple Evil Ernie ones, a Daredevil and ghost rider glow covers as well.

      5. Forget glow in the dark covers.. I want them to start bringing back the “scratch & sniff” covers.. we can learn what Logan’s pits smell like or Hulk’s breathe…

    1. I’ve pre-order a bunch of weapon x #8 venom variant cover.
But what do you guys think about TA Hulk #23?
Will it be another eBay frenzy or has that storyline ending meant the end of the craze?!

      1. I’ve pre ordered 10 copies of the venom variant cover for #23 and will pick up More in store on the day.
Ive sold 2 Weapon X 7’s for just over double price and have 2 more auctions ending this evening, but certainly nothing like metal or TA #22 or even Mister Miracle…..

  2. TAH #22 is the real deal. There is plenty of juice left in the storyline. MIght fall a bit. If you can find an issue for $20 or less it’s still a good buy.

    1. Yeah, for TAH #23 it’s a new storyline, from what I can tell, no Weapon H stuff. Seems like Weapon H stuff is all in Weapon X books.
But because we demanded it, expect a new series titled Weapon H in the foreseeable future. 😉

  3. OK did a little digging.
Weapon X #8 sounds like the true origin story of Alpha
    Weapon X #10 Weapon H v Old Man Logan.

  4. I was able to snatch-up some of , “Weapon X #7,” and flip them quickly. I was very perturbed when one shop I occasionally frequent and which had pulled me a copy had FIVE more on their shelf but said they were limiting people to one copy per customer unless they specifically pre-ordered more. I understanding the logic of making sure you have it in stock so folk wanting one can get it, but that just made me irritable. Also, I flipped my Totally Awesome Hulk #22 copies too early and only got 20-ish for them. Should’ve waited for them to get so red-hot maybe, but a profit is a profit!

    1. I prefer they limit it to one per person as it allows for people to pick up instead of one person hoarding everything. My LCS sold them at cover price to those who had it in their pull box prior to Wednesday. Come Wednesday they were selling them for $15 a pop. So that’s the flip side. If not limited one per customer you’ll see stores jump in on the speculation.

      1. If we are talking about an LCS here, that methodology is garbage. Shops that charge an elevated amount on opening day (ie Wednesday) is ridiculous. Yes, I know the argument that “this book is selling for far more on eBay”…..but when you ask them about the piece of crap book selling for 2/3 or even 1/4 the cover price on eBay and if they’ll match that price…of course they won’t.

      1. Jesus, you’re fast. I have more than a mitt-full of this book….and should have been listing them in sets as I was a very early adopter to this story line…..
        I need to catch-up dammit…..
