Comic Picks of the Week for Delivery 8/30/17

Each week hundreds of new comics hit the stands, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 8/30/17:
The dreaded fifth week. Less releases than normal, but still a chance at profit. Lets check it out.
Returning Favorites
Deadly Class #30 – Rick Remender’s story of a school for assassins. One of my favorite books on the market.
Saga #46 – BKV epic story that keeps getting better and better with each issue.
Stray Bullets Sunshine and Roses #27 – I have yet to put this on the returning favorites, but it has long been one of my favorite books. Dave Lapham has been doing this book for years. One of he strangest crime books on the market. Also takes place in my hometown of Baltimore.
Space Riders Galaxy Of Brutality #3 – The only Black Mask book I read right now. Quality story telling and awesome quirky art.
The Political One
Savage Dragon #226 – as of late Donald Trump covers have sold really well, here is one where he is calling for the eradication of all aliens. Andrew Cantrell brought this one up in the comments and I think it was a good pick.
The Reprint to Watch
Generations Banner Hulk & Totally Awesome Hulk #1 2nd Print Mattina Variant – We were the first to bring these up. Mattina originally did these for a store variant that never happened. I skipped the first prints to get the second prints.
The Small Gainer with Potential
Secret Empire #10 Gabrielle Dell’Otto Cover – Already sold out at most online shops. Selling for above cover, this one could build steam of fizzle. Remains to be seen.
The Pick of the Week
G.I. Joe #8 Tom Whalen Variant – Already selling for $10. Beautiful cover. I am grabbing one for the collection, and any extras I will be flipping.
That is it for us this week. let us know what you are spec-ing on. And if you missed it, here is this week’s New Comic Spec Review video https://youtu.be/S5Et8474EBI
