Blind Adam's Hidden Gems Vol. 62

Greetings to my Comics Heating Up and Awesomesauce families. As always, I would like to say thank you for reading this each and every week. IF you get a chance, check me out on Youtube and subscribe. I I have a gift for the 100 subscriber. I will have a few autograph opps in the near future, so check back later for that. As always thank you for the friendship, encouragement, advice, and support. I love being a part of this and it is the greatest blessing in my life.
Batman #30, Superman #30, Daredevil #27, and Nightwing #28 are my reads of the week. If anyone wants to read and record some indy comics that I can listen to, lets work out a deal, email me at comicpimpvip@gmail.com. I am hooked on classic Duckman episodes, stuffed crust Pizza Hut, and Monster energy drinks. Now lets make some money with some comics, because you can’t teach that.
1. KFC Presents The Colonel’s Adventure Comics (2014) #1 SDCC Exclusive – first KFC comic book. First Col. Sanders in comics. I could be wrong about that fact but this has spawned a series of comics giveaway at SDCC and NYCC and it is awesome. I love the #2 the Flash #123 spoof, but this #1 is pricey $50 and up
2. Batman #40 New 52 3rd Print – Endgame was one of the best Joker stories in recent memory. This is the 3rd print and is low printed. With Dark Night Metal hopefully one day we will get the answer to the Rebirth mystery of three jokers and Batman’s death. I believe Endgame holds the answer to that riddle $5-10
3. Dead of Winter #1 Gencon variant – Oni Press popular game franchise features art from the game artist on the cover and was limited to only a few thousand $10 and up
4. Rick and Morty #1 Bridge City Exclusive Variant speaking of oni press, let’s not forget the golden goose for them right now, Rick and Morty. This is another variant of #1 one of the hottest books right now. It was exclusive to a place called Bridge City comics and is less know then other variants of #1 $50 and up
5. Rick and Morty #25 Blank Cover variant – blank sketch variants are #awesomesauce . Try and find a copy of this without a sketch on it. Worth the spec and Rick and Morty is #awesomesauce . I now need a non-sketched copy of this for a summer sketch I want done for the office $25 and up
6. Spawn Fan Edition #3 – for the first time in years I am excited for Spawn. The book is great again, sweet variants, and a new movie. That 1997 movie sucked. All first appearances should be scooped up now. This is the first appearance of Mercy
7. Comico Attractions #9 – this is the first modern Space Ghost in comics. This is a Comico preview book similar to Dark Horse Insider. Previews the Steve Rude Space Ghost one shot. It also has a feature on Grendel and a Mage cover by Matt Wagner $10 and up
8. Batman Family #3 – wow Tom King loves Kite-man. The War of Jokes and Riddles is also a great Kite-man story. Kite-men first appeared in Batman #133.  BF #3 reprints #133 and is also the first bronze age Kite-man . Oversized and tough in high grade $10 and up
9. Detective Comics #659660 3rd prints –  Knightfall is a iconic story. After Whitman and DC logo variants I belive these knightfall and death of superman 3rd print variants are the next thing to explode $15 and up
10. Forever Evil #7 Combo Pack – Forever Evil was a fun event .  Fake death of Dick Grayson. Leads into super spy Dick Grayson and the Grayson series DC combo packs are drying up and are collectible $10 and up
11. Amazing Spiderman #275 – reprints Amazing Fantasy #15 in the middle of the book.  Classic Hobgoblin story I still think you could have Ned Leeds as the Hobgoblin.  A villain for one of the Spiderman Homecoming sequels $10 and up
12. A Moment of Silence #1 – last Monday was the anniversary. As a New York City area residence, I’d like to say,  lets take a moment to remember the tragic events of 9/11. To all my NYC borthers and sisters, I love you all. Lets never forget the brave cops, fire fighters and first responder . this is one of the tribute comics put out by Marvel and compared to Amazing Spiderman #36, is so cheap. Features stories by Kevin Smith & Brian Bendis $5
13. Heroes #1 1st & 2nd prints – Marvel’s 9/11 trubite comic it is magazine sized and had two prints why so cheap??
14. Shi From the Ashes #1 – Bill Tucci’s Shi is #awesomesauce. Shi needs cos-play love. this is Bill’s 9/11 tribute comic $5-10
15. Adventures of Superman #596 – this Superman comic came out the day after 9/11. Shows the Lex Tower building in ruins was returnable and is a tough find $10
16. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #2 3rd print – first April O’Neal. Never realized until writing this that this had a 3rd print. Turtle power kicks butt on the back market now I need a SS. by April O’Neall herself. nuff said $10-20
17. Wolverine #1 DVD mini comic – this came out in 2012-2013 it was included in the wolverine dvd . reprintswolverine #1 I feel mini comics don’t get enough love because of there size $10
18. Wolverine #100 non-enhanced – remember the days when variants were simple? A foil and a non-foil and that was it. Wow the 100th issue of a marvel comic today that is so rare, sick of renumbering and ten variants for ever Marvel comic $10
19. Katy Keen #62 – this is pricey but a key Archie comic. Final issue of Katie Keen . I want Katie to show up in Riverdale. Just find the grade you can afford
20. Flash #120 – first team up between ginger Wally West and Barry Allen. Very key event in OG Wally’s life and carrier $30 and up
21. Flash #1 1:25 Variant – for a 1 in 25, variant this is pretty cheap Ivan Reis is #awesomesauce. The Flash Season Four drops October 10th and during the show the flash tends to heat up $15-25
22. Amazing Fantasy #15 Marvel Legends Variant –  I still don’t understand why reprints of this issue don’t featch higher prices as this is the only way budget collectors/flippers can afford this book $10-20
23. Batman Annual #15 3rd Print–  Batman plus low print equals money
24. Harley Quinn #23 Frank Cho Cover – The Killer B’s, love them. This is my favorite of the Harley Quinn’s by Cho. Poison Ivy and Harley dancing to the Batman TV theme song with a boomb box, sexy and retro $5-10
Well, once again thank you guys for everything. I hope to see a few of
you at a convention in the near future. love you guys

  1. I prefer that Rick and Morty #1 it’s the only first printing that has the whole family on the cover. So it’s first cover for more characters than the other #1 variants.

  2. As always great article and keep it up.
    Quick question.
How will I know what print are my Knighfall’s and Batman Annual 15?
    Thanks
    Harry

  3. I literally just sold a AF #15 Marvel Legends a couple weeks ago, I considered it VF/VF+ condition and it only went for $5, after being listed for 3 weeks (luckily I paid less than 10 cents for it). I think it’s not higher in price because lots of people just aren’t aware of it since it came included with a toy (I’m guessing)

    1. It’s a great mystery. Mike High counts them as variants and charge more. I will say high grade newsstand comics are harder to come by.

      1. Some of these have been selling on eBay lately in the $80-100 range .. unslabbed .. back in the 1990’s, I had a Newsstand distributor for some books and I can almost guarantee there are as many Direct Market copies as there are Newsstand on these books ..
It just makes no sense to me ..
