Paramount TV options Brubaker's Velvet

Velvet from Ed Brubaker and Image Comics has been optioned for a tv show at Paramount. The first appearance of the characters are in the low pricedĀ Velvet #1

Paramount Television is getting into the graphic novel business.
The network, which rebrands from Spike TV on Jan. 18, is teaming with Kyle Killen (Awake, Lone Star) to adapt Ed Brubaker’s beloved Image Comics title Velvet. The drama, which is in development, marks the first original from Paramount Television for corporate sibling Paramount Network. (The studio’s First Wives Club, which went to pilot for TV Land, is being redeveloped with a new writer for Paramount Network.)
Velvetis a female-driven spy thriller that revolves around former spy Velvet as she sets out to settle an ancient score built on lies in a new world of ongoing espionage.
Killen will pen the script and exec produce via his overall deal with Paramount Television. Keith Redmon and Steve Golin of Anonymous Content, which recently renewed its overall pact with Paramount TV, will also exec produce. Scott Pennington, who oversees Killen’s Chapter Eleven banner, will also exec creator Brubaker will exec produce while Stephen Epting will produce.

  1. Was this series any good? I was reading too many different titles at the time it came out. I think I have the first three issues. Do you know the print run?
