Comic Picks of the Week for Delivery 12/6/17

Each week hundreds of new comics hit the stands, each with potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are our comic picks of the week for delivery 12/6/17.
RETURNING FAVORITES
The Fix #10 – Finally this funny cop comic returns to the stands. One of the best humor books in a long time
Paper Girls #18 – BKV weird book about paper girls time traveling to save their town.
Stray Bullets Sunshine And Roses #30 David Lapham’s Baltimore-centric crime noir/ comedy book. Has been a favorite for years.
THE ODD MARVEL ONE ON THE LIST
Venom Inc #1 – Sure, that is only part of the name, but dang it if I am typing it all out. This features the new coupling of the symbiote formerly known as Mania with a new host. We spoiled this a while back. Shoot for the Adi Granov  variant as it is cover price and beautiful.

FOR THE COVER

Barbarella #1 Joseph Michael Linsner Virgin Variant – I saw the movie when I was a kid and it blew me away. One of those I shouldn’t have seen at an early age. Barbarella always stuck out in my rotten little mind. This cover by Linsner captures the look and feel of Barbarella well. Grab it if you can find it on the cheap and flip.

THE ONE WITH THE WALKING AND THE DEAD
Walking Dead #174 – Next issue shifts gears, but this issue focuses on Negan striking out on his own.
SMALL PRESS PICK OF THE WEEK
Jupiter Jet #1 Jonboy Meyers Variant – Gorgeous cover by Johnny Myers. Small Press book, I hear the creators are Youtube stars or something, s there could be a following there. Needless to say this is one great cover and will have a low print run.
THE PICK OF THE WEEK
Batman White Knight #3 Sean Murphy Variant – a well deserved pick of the week. Hype over content. Two Harley’s, the original from BA12, and the newer Suicide Squad movie. The newer one was given the boot by Joker in favor of the old one. The newer version becomes “Neo Joker.” Pretty rad. This cover features both versions. Grab one, or two. Sold out online at TFAW, Midtown, Mycomicshop. Sales as high as $20 and no copies on eBay at the moment.
That is it for us this week. Let us know what you are speccing on. And in case you missed it, here is this weeks New Comic Spec Review video:

  1. I’m so glad Ive been holding out on The Fix with the TPB…. The release schedule would be killing me right now.

      1. thanks. checked in comicbookrealm, the retailer variant is at $75. it’s offered at $30 at lcs, is this good?

    1. One should also consider that it’s Volume 2 #1. Usually these don’t heat up as #1 when it’s not an original first volume, 1st everything type of book.

      1. thanks. having 2nd thoughts now. i had the volume 1 #1 but traded it 22 yrs ago. it is like i am wanting to have a new one, and coming up to mind is volume 2 #1.

        1. Well, I can say buy it if your a fan but I wouldn’t expect this new #1 to catch much heat or gain in value anytime soon. Looks like you can find decent volume 1 #1 witchblades for under $20 currently.

  2. and it is not the original witchblade either . has way to many variants . most store variants can don’t do well int he after market. that linser virgin will be great for the p.c. and I need to rewatch the movie. and I hope whaite knight #3 is on the rack at midtown blind adam the comicpimp out

  3. thanks for the feedback on witchblade. am confused on what the retailer variant looks like, is it the one by natali sanders, hot alex underwood on the cover or the same regular issue by roberta ingranata, just with the gold foil? imho, if it’s the gold foil, i thought it could me more than that, i mean the cover should be better? well, it is a “rare” retailer appreciation variant.
