Weekend Spec: Flashpoint and Shazam

This is a little late due to the Holiday shopping rush this weekend, but here is some Weekend Spec, on a Monday for you, and featuring the Shazam movie. Justice League #21 (New 52)
Shazam isn’t out until April of 2019, however, more character announcements have been made this past weekend. First up, Faithe Herman has been cast in a role, and could be playing Darla Dudley. If you are unfamiliar with Darla, she is an orphan who lives in the same group home as Billy Batson, AKA Shazam, AKA Captain Marvel.
Darla is one of several kids that Captain Marvel (Shazam) lives with in the orphanage. The others are as follow:
Jack Grazer (IT) as Freddy Freeman
Ian Chen as Eugene Choi
Jovan Armand as Pedro Peña
Grace Fulton possibly playing Mary Marvel
So what makes all these people so special? Well for one, they are all Billy’s siblings in the orphanage, but they all have similar power sets as Captain Marvel (Shazam). Their first appearance as the new Captain Marvel Family is Justice League #21 (New 52), which can be found very cheaply.
While Justice League #21 (New 52), may be the teams fist appearance in the New 52, powered up,  the Flashpoint  mini series is the first appearance of the characters.
Flashpoint  features the character living with Billy Batson.
Speaking of potential movie characters in the DC Cinematic Universe, Batman Knight of Vengeance #1 features the first appearance of Thomas Wayne as the “Flashpoint” Batman. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has expressed interest in playing Thomas Wayne in the Flashpoint movie. He already has the experience, in character, in the Batman Vs. Superman movie. This book is pricy but keeps getting more expensive.

  1. Check out the combo pack edition of Justice League #21; it’s probably the rarest version. Also, copies of the second printing of Knight of Vengeance #1 are listed north of $100 on eBay, not many sales at that price though. Merry Christmas everyone!

  2. Yup! There’s a 1:100 variant of JL 21 and ofcourse the Combo pack which looks awesome.
Furthermore, it’s a really cool cover of Black Adam… not too many of those around!
    Cheers!
