Attack of the Killer B’s: Batgirl and the Birds of Prey #20

DC is doing many things right (not talking about the movies here) and one of the biggest things they have done is bring big name artists on to their comics for cover price B covers. Birds of Prey #20 is one of those books.
Adam Hughes has provided fantastic covers for DC, Birds of Prey #20 is another beautiful one.

  1. It’s really good and at a fraction of the cost that you’d have to pay for a cookie cutter scott Campbell exclusive.

    1. DC can’t get Campbell to draw for them. Marvel would sue for Mary Jane copy right infringement every time he drew a girl for them.. 😛

  2. Absolutely gorgeous use of color, and the logo placement is creative. But the penciling looks fairly average for Marvel & DC covers. Definitely not a bad cover, but it’s far from exceptional or iconic.

  3. One thing that popped out right away for me was the hair of Huntress is blowing the wrong direction than Canary and Batgirl.?‍♀️

    1. It must be one of those Bomb Cyclones we had last week in the Northeast. They’re notorious for wind blowing every which way and then some. 🙂

      1. Actually that high up (I’m assuming since it looks like they’re way up on a building or something).. one could say the wind is moving more upwards…

  4. Will he do more covers or just #20?
You’re right about the B variants. Sean Phillips is the artist for the Hellbalazer B’s starting this month. They look great. One problem, my LCS only orders for pull list. No shelf copies. Not sure how hard it will be to find?

  5. From what I see, the wind is blowing the right direction. The chair is blowing back and up. At that height and the background, the hairs is fine where it’s at. The reason why it looks like that, is because of how the head is placed. Great cover. Will decently grab and add it to my AH collection.
