    Same with Doctor Strange Damnation #3. Something happens that will get people talking.

    2 Books off my Bronze Age list 5 more to go until I’m done with Bronze Age. Prob have 200-300 of the top 1000 Bronze Age books have all the ones I want majority first appearances, not a big collector of just covers or artists. Had a ton of orders canceled this week for in total 10 Iron Man Hong Kong B covers 2 C covers. Also a cancel on 2 Thanos #17 b covers but happy I got what I did. Really getting into collecting 1st appearance toys the market is starting to take off on some of these doubling and tripling price in a years time.

    1. Nice pickups. Is that really Baby on the Living Dead Dolls? Seems like it might be one of the cheerleaders.

      1. I have seen it advertised as both cheerleader Cindy and as Baby. I don’t know for sure the ones I bought are unboxed. Bought them because I do have a decent living Dead Doll collection and the new movie “3 From Hell” was announced now making House of 1000 corpses a trilogy.

      2. That is awesome. I haven’t heard about the new movie yet. The first two are some of me and my wife’s favorite movies. It will be interesting to see how they do it considering the end of Devil’s Rejects.

      3. I also loved House of 1000 corpses and Rejects, but I have one thing to say to Rob Zombie. PLEASE stay away from Michael Myers!!!!!!

  3. I bought a small lot last week that I spent about $300 for. I sold a few Golden Age issues for a total of $219.
    So for about $80 I got Green Lantern #79,81,82,83 (Neal Adams issues), Iron Fist #2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,15 (John Byrne issues), Sub-Mariner #2,3,4,6 (John Buscema issues), Beware the Claws of the Cat #1, The Men in Black #1, Green Hornet #2,3 (Gold Key photo covers)!
    Three of my favorite artists of all time! Adams! Byrne! Buscema!

  4. All Thanos and Spider-Man 2nd print. Light week. Opening day Saturday and first game tomorrow. Wish us luck

  5. I got a couple of things online tonight, not sure what I’ll get tomorrow or if I’ll even be able to, supposed to be getting a lot of snow. I already know I’m not working because of it. Maybe I’ll just stay home and make sure I have everything ready for the show I’m doing this weekend, I’ve got about 10 short boxes ready to go.

    Love & Rockets 1 B&W
    Gilbert Hernandez found a small stash of them last year and is still selling them directly, if you email him, for $215. The slabbed copies dropped about 20% in value when he announced finding them. Now is the time to pick one up if you want a copy. It is a bit of a gamble on grade. My copy looks to be NM, but I know someone who bought 2 copies that ended with color rubs.

      1. I’m glad to have one. CBCS told me today that they still do not grade magazine sized books yet, so it looks like I will have to go the CGC route. The only issue I have with going CGC is that Beto signed the book in pencil inside and I don’t want to have to take the hit for it being unwitnessed. I usually go with CBCS for the verification program. Now I’ll have to decide whether to take the Unqualified label and the grade demotion or try and erase the signature (which I really don’t want to do, but would be OK with since it will be slabbed and the signature is on the inside.)

      2. Jay, you say that like it’s a bad thing! I did a quick check of some prices of what’s out there now and you did very well.

      3. I asked at some local shops in the weeks leading up to the purchase, with the intent of finding a deal at the Con. So, I had some chances at the book locally if I didnt score it at the Con. I went to the con on Sunday and shopped the floor for that specific book for 3 1/2 – 4 hours before settling on one. I had laid the ground work for my purchase by talking to the dealer through out the day and found out he was a hard core traditionalist. So, before I went up to make my offer at the end of the day, I started by talking to him about Kirby and Ditko and Stan Lee, after working him a bit, i asked to see the NYX3 and pulled out my wad of $100s and $50s and made the offer. He hesitated briefly but agreed to it and shook my hand as he said something about Kirby. Wasnt listening at that point. Lol

    1. I have a NYX 3 at CBCS that just moved into grading status. I think it is a 9.8 candidate. I have a BA12 CBCS 9.6 available if you are interested.

      1. I would be interested, David. We could perhaps exchange personal emails via Anthony to work something out perhaps.

      2. Ill have my fingers crossed for you that your NYX3 comes back a 9.8. Im looking into seeing if I can crack my 9.6 and press it out to a 9.8.

        1. I read about 25 titles a month. Used to read more indy but im getting back into super heroes. My true passion in comics. I read Spidey, Bats and Detective, XMen Gold, Red, Astonishing, JLA for my Lobo fix, She Hulk, New Wolverine, Old Wolverine, Eleanor and the Egret, Hillbilly, im really enjoying the Animosity universe, and a few others here and there. I like catching up on older classic stories in TPB, too. I was reading Thanos for Lemires run and quite enjoyed it and stayed on for Cates run. And im reading Dr. strange and Avengers for the 1st time ever. How about yourself?

      1. It’s my first biiiig book and it feels surreal! I’m thinking of going ahead and picking up 49 and 50 too. The covers are just “fantastic.”

      2. I’m a HUGE BATMAN FAN! So I get Batman, Detective, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Thor, Moon Knight, Amazing Spider-Man, Superman, Thanos, Weapon H, Weapon X, Redneck, Wonder Woman and a few others…and some covers that catch my eye!

      3. There are some really cool covers from FF back then, I really like the red cover of issue #75. Very unique!

        1. I wish more covers today were done like the old books. All actiony and relevant to the story. Instead of pose after pose of the same characters.

  8. Hello everyone! I’m (sadly) back in the cold from vacation. Went last night and pickup up last weeks books. My LCS is having a sale (which I’ve been requesting for a while now) on older variants that they’ve had un-moving for a while. 50% off sticker price for the above cover priced ones and 50% off cover if regularly priced. I managed to grab a few of the old Villains Month lenticulars I never got a few of the Civil War II Cho boxing poster covers. Will probably pick up the Supergirl Rebirth Foil Variant when I pick up this weeks books on Friday. I also grabbed Curse Words #12 Wraparound Virgin (LOL – sounds so dirty) and the Deadly Class #32 Wraparound Virgin (LOL again).

  10. Received the email from CBCS that the 11 books I submitted on September 8 have finally moved to grading. I was expecting a long wait since I opt to press everything I get slabbed and some of the books had to go through the signature verification process (Bernie Wrightson, Dan Harmon, and Skottie Young.) Many of the events where I get signatures don’t have witnesses so I don’t mind the red verification label.

    1. Six months !!!!! Really, and how much longer until they finish the grading process. The last time I submitted to them I got my comics back in about 2 months of less . I was going to drop some comics off with them at a con. I’m going to next week, but I don’t want to wait that long for my comics. I’ll probably just do CGC instead.

      1. If you want, they have fast pass pressing and fast pass grading, but they are two separate charges so it feels like they are double dipping. I don’t use fast pass, myself. Even though it takes longer, I trust CBCS’s grading and slabbing more and truly appreciate the signature verification which CGC does not offer.

      2. Pgx 60 days or so and they usually only charge me for half the books I have pressed not to mention the low prices. I know you all hate PGX but when a book is out of your possession for 6 months you lose the ability to file a usps insurance claim.

      3. How much does cbcs charge for signature certification? Got a campbell Danger girl signed I woud like to get slabbed.

      4. Just throwing my hat in the ring I offer a pressing service 10$ per book any value and my turnaround time is way quicker than 3 months. More like 2 days per book. Jasoncodydavis@yahoo.com hit me up if you are interested. Can also press and submit to Cgc.

    I have to include my Don Mattingly Rookie Card. I’m a Yankees fan in Alabama and Don was my childhood baseball hero. It was included in a sellers lot who I was purchasing some comics from and for $3.00 I couldn’t pass!

    1. Im a life long Jays fan, and despise those Yankees, but I loved ‘The Hit Man’ growing up. ‘…I dont know what you think side burns are…’

        1. Most recent CGC 9.4 I found in sold listings seems to put it around the $1150.00 range. Not bad. Seems 9.8 are hovering around the $2300-$2500 range now… Once were 3k range… I’m waiting patiently for them to drop more to get my #1 9.8 one day.

      1. Most of the junk I got in the lot with that TWD1 has been cromulently sold. I’m actually into it money earned $300 or so.

      2. I’m telling you it won’t drop. I was saying the same thing when the book was $150 it will drop down and I can get it. Then it was $300 pass $600 pass then $900 pass. Never thought I would own it at that point. I had to get real creative to get my copies bought 1-5 all Graded sold 2-5 got most money back the 9.6 Graded #1 Signed by Jon Bernthal cost me about $400 after that. My other copy was just a lazy seller to busy to check the prices 9.6 PGX listed for $800 bought it as soon as it was listed. Eventually going to sell it. To big of a cash cow to stop on tv or in comics anytime soon. I think it will spin off new Comics and television for ages maybe even a film one day to explain the start of the infection. With a 10k print run there is almost enough cast and crew from all seasons of both shows to own all 10000 copies.

        1. Its already dropping though. WD #1 in 9.8 use to command $3000 easily, seems most recent auctions are ending at $2300 to $2500. I think once the show ends, it will drop some more but I dont think it will ever go below $1000. My guess is it settles as a $1500-$2000 book for the long haul. These indie books are different from our hero books that will continue to live on with fresh stories, etc. One day when WD show is done and over, fan base drops as we all start kicking the bucket and unless they’re doing new stuff with the title and such…. I dont see a lot of new fans being created from the original run.

        2. Show numbers already dropping though too from what I’ve read. I don’t see the WD universe going on forever and if it does… Its fan base will be much smaller. I’m even losing interest now in the show. Its run its course I think, need to plan their ending and end on a high note. Dont get me started on Fear, that show sucks.

      3. I hope it goes your way and you get one Poyo. Personally I think it has cemented it’s place as a modern grail. There are many collectors such as yourself waiting for that day.

      4. Im done with all things TWD, and Kirkman. Done. I listed all my TWD books, full run from issue 90 and up, a month or two ago. There is no way, in five-ten years, anyone cares about these books, imo. The show is so bad. Terrible, terrible writing.

        1. I’m not done yet but come Sunday nights I’m not itching to see what happens like I use to be. Story is just becoming too redundant and too predictable (even if I wasn’t reading the comic, still so easily predictable). And yes, the writing is no longer as it once was, the fresh ideas are gone now.

          1. I still pick up and read the floppies. I still enjoy the book more or less. I think it was a mistake killing Andrea, but i digress. I gave up on the show after season 3-4. Carl was surprised attacked by zombies quitely, patiently waiting for him to open the door they were hiding behind in order to gain the element of surprise on Carl. You know, like zombies are known for being stealth. ?. Pathetic writing to add a ‘surprise’ monent to the episode. Those sly, sneaky zombies. And Fear, i watched 1-3 episodes and i was like ‘nope’, this is garbage. Now, Poyo, the behind scenes talant on FEAR is no doubt too notch, but the product in screen is meh at best.
