Y the Last Man Pilot Ordered by FX

Looks like the Y the Last Man TV show is happening. Variety has reported that a pilot has been ordered by FX.
Originally appearing in Y The Last Man #1 (available on eBay) , copies were quickly scooped off eBay. There are copies on Amazon listed at f/vf for $125.
From Variety:

FX has ordered a pilot based on the comic-book series “Y: The Last Man.”
Michael Green (“American Gods,” “Blade Runner 2049,” “Logan”) and Aida Mashaka Croal (“Luke Cage,” “Turn”) are set to serve as co-showrunners on the project, and will executive produce alongside Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson of Color Force (“American Crime Story,” “Pose,” “The Hunger Games”) and Brian K. Vaughan. Melina Matsoukas (“Insecure,” “Master of None,” “Beyonce: Formation”) will direct the pilot and also serve as an executive producer.
Exploring gender, race, class, and survival, “Y: The Last Man” is a post-apocalyptic science fiction story that takes place in a world in which all men — except for one — are dead. Beginning in 2002, the comic book series — by Vaughn and Pia Guerra and published by DC Comics — ran for 60 issues. It received three Eisner Awards, the top honor in the comic-book industry, as well as the first Hugo Award for best graphic story.
“Y: The Last Man” has a long development history, with the rights first being acquired by New Line for a potential feature film more than a decade ago. As recently as 2013, Dan Trachtenberg had been tapped to direct a film adaptation that never came to fruition. After New Line’s rights lapsed, FX began work on a series adaptation that has been in development for more than two years.

    1. I bought the entire run a few years back for $300 that included a NM #1….. If this reaches Walking Dead type #1 value… I’m selling in a heartbeat. Seems raw copies are already well over the $400 to $500 range.

      1. Unlike walking dead, this is just a long limited series. Not sure if there are really key issues as there s no continuity or ongoing story to support further development or popularity.
I loved it…read it when they came out in hardcover, when I would get them I would read them in one sitting, then anxiously await he next. Excited to see it in a series…should be good if they can stay true to the comics within reason.

        1. We could see some heat on issues where 1st appearances occur within the story if they make it to the show. The early issues are the key issues since they’re well, #1 and hard to come by. If the show is successful, it could make all those common irrelevant later issues now have more relevance.
But yes, long running series that had an ending so the show likely will meet the same ending, likely 4-6 seasons at most if it’s popular, which is likely since most people who have cable or satellite have FX as a channel.
