  1. FanExpo Dallas and C2E2 had foil variants of last week’s Batman #44 Selena Kyle cover. It seems they sold out of them at the cons. Sold prices are between $30-$40.

  2. Picking up this week:
No comics this week, so I bought a $200 bottle of Caroni rum. Since they are collectible and flippable, the liquor store limits it to 6 bottles and requests that the buyer does not flip. I saw the same bottle for sale elsewhere for $600. The reason for the steep price is that the distillery closed in 2002 so after this release there is no more.

    1. What is special about this rum? I’m not familiar with it. Probably due to me being a bourbon drinker.

      1. The distillery is closed and it has a unique flavor profile. It tastes like petrol, tobacco, asphalt, and rubber but in a good way. It smells old, smoky, and musty. It has a finish that lasts for an unbelievable amount of time. When I am done drinking my pour, I spend the next half hour smelling the glass. A local rum bar sells it $40/pour. But when it’s gone, it’s gone.

      1. I’m a rum geek. I am a High Chieftan of the Loyal Order of Fire Drinkers at my local tiki bar, Hale Pele. I’ve had about 370 of their 450 bottles, 2 rums a week.

  3. Picked up:
ASM 798 Tyler Kirkham sketch variant
a couple Rick & Morty: Vindicators C2E2 variants
Afterlife With Archie #666 SDCC Denomicon variant
    Carnage: Family Feud HC

  4. I got an email from CGC the other day saying that my comics had already been received and were being processed.

      1. It seems to be just a 1 or 2 panel cameo, but the new hero looks like some girl made of light trapped in a bubble in Alberta. Issue 20 may be full 1st, or this may be considered 1st full. time will tell

      2. Yeah, just read it today. Actually was coming to update my comment but you beat me to it. Looks like a 1st to me. Speaking and full view is more than a cameo in my opinion.

  5. Thanos #18 is at the top of the list for me tomorrow, skipping the crappy Venom variant and just grabbing a few of the regulars.
Domino #1 JSC 1:50 if I can find it for $20 or less
Cap 700 Ross variant, again if it’s cheap enough
Cap 700 Steranko variant. Not one of his best but I’m a collector so I’ll take it.
My over the weekend / early week pickups:
Nothing was more than $8, some were at cover
    ASM 17.1 Dell’Otto variant
    ASM 798 x 2
Spawn 224 Dark Knight #2 homage
    Thanos #1 Lemire series
    Carnage #10
    Carnage USA #1
    Happy #1
    Gotham Girls #1
    Original Sin #1 Dell’Otto
    Original Sin # 6 Dell’Otto
    Ultimate Fantastic Four #60 1:100
    Ultimates 2 #13 1:100
    All-New Wolverine #2 2 copies

      1. It may seem like a deal, sure .. I’m just glad I’m not the guy that paid top dollar for single issues of any of these in hope of making a buck down the road ..

      2. If I ever buy a store variant or convention variant, four out of five times it is because I like the cover and want it for the pc….but that deal up there..Wow, that’s a great price! Didn’t get any of them so why not…$16 with free shipping!? Can’t beat that! Had to pick one up.

  6. Slow week this week. Not too much going on, yet again. It’s been unseasonably cold up here and we are still getting small amounts of snow! Hopefully that changes soon.
    Today I am picking up:
    Bloodshot salvation #8
    Crude #1
    Detective comics #978
    Ninja k #6
    Oblivion song #2
    Spider-Man/Deadpool #31
    Darth Vader #14
    Supergirl #20 variant
    Thanos #18
    Avengers #688
    Deadpool #298
    Flash #44 variant

    1. Unseasonably cold? 20 years ago i would still be going to the ski resort on weekends at this time of year. I would say it’s frighteningly warm out. ?

      1. The average minimum temperature in April in our area since 1981 is 4 degrees. Today is the second day in April where the temp did not go below 0. It’s unseasonably cold!

      2. On the other hand, the temperature today historically has ranged from -25 to 38 degrees. So perhaps there is no “seasonable” norm. I guess I’m just remembering how warm it was last year around now.

  7. Pick ups for the week:
    Darth Vader #14
Thanos #18 (regular cover and Venom)-sorry to see this storyline end-easily my favorite of 2018!!!
    Avengers #688 (Brooks cover)
    Wonder Woman (Frison)
X-Men Red #3 (Lee variant-beautiful cover art is the only reason I got this)
    Doctor Strange #388 (Venom variant)
    C2E2 Hillbilly #9 autograph with sketch $15
    C2E2 Xerses #1 foil $10
    Spec pick ups this week:
Oblivion Song #1 (Pink signature variant)
Power Rangers #25 (2 sealed bags for $10 each-so tempted to gamble and open one-thoughts?)
The Kitchen #1 Vertigo (1:15 variant for $4 didn’t realize this was going to be a movie to be released in 2019 with Tiffany Haddish and Melissa McCarthy).

  8. At first I wasn’t going to any shops today, but then I was near a pretty good shop that I don’t get to very often. I didn’t pick up anything new but I did get Thanos #13 trading card variant and a Lenticular variant. This shop still had a stack of the Lenticular. Why is it that the Lenticular seemingly gets no love? I would think that it’s the lowest printed of the variants, but I haven’t seen the numbers so I don’t know for sure.

  9. This weeks pick ups……
Exiles #1 all three incentive variants.
    Walking Dead #176 x3
    All New Wolverine #33
    Batman #44
And in the dollar bins 2x Infinity War Prelude #1

    1. Going back to look for some Batman 44s. My copies from midtown (A & B) were not the best…spine ticks and some weird ink spots. Hoping to track down some better copies. So far even the LCS’s were damaged.

  10. Sucked it up and did some pruning to my pull list, which will probably be the case for the next little while. Not suffering any withdrawal symptoms, but still a bit of a bummer.

  11. Oddly, Eternals #1 Kirby 1976 seems to be getting some heat .. I’ve sold 4 copies in the last few days and ratcheted the price up each time .. raw 9.0 last sale was $32.00 .. these have been in back issue bins for years collecting dust ..

      1. That explains it .. mine were all in shop sales, not online .. I quizzed a couple of the customers but they were tight lipped .. good for me, I have about 20 copies in storage ..

    1. I put in an offer on a 9.0 CGC for $50. The seller came back with a $60 offer and someone snatched it at full price before I could respond.

  12. I can’t post a reply to the del otto ASM #800 Comicxposure variant to warn everyone not to go through CX…what gives?!

  13. Batman 45 cover A already sold out a midtown…and it was limit one per customer. What’s up? Guess I’ll be hitting up some shops this Wednesday early.
