    1. Yeah, that’s wrong. 3 normal size comics weigh a pound on average. I can pack 2 comics with couple pieces of cardboard for protection and it usually rounds out to 16 ounces.

    2. I wish my short boxes were 1 lb. That would be awesome. If Kirkman can make that happen, I will read all his books, forever. 2 copies.

      1. I cluld see Kirkman switching his books to be printed on tracing paper to save money, nkt to make his books lighter. 😉

  1. Just out of curiosity, how many different times has Image reprinted the WD #1? I mean in different formats or books. Aside from the original, there’s the $1.00 Image first, the trade paperback, the Omnibus, the Compendium, what else?

    1. According to comicspriceguide.com and including #1 that appear in trades and omnibuses, etc…. #1 has been printed 80 times.

  2. I wonder how many folk will buy it just for the special, “Here’s Negan,” hardcover with the extra previously-uncollected stories? Some completionists will surely want it.

    1. The “Here’s Negan” they said would be found no where else but in Image+ Magazine….. But then was made in special format for 25th anniversary box….. Now in The WD 15th anniversary box…. 🙁

    1. Image promises a lot of things they always tend to break or not follow. I think that’s what pissed a lot of consumers off with the Negan story from the Image+ magazines when they said it would not get reprinted but it was what.. just mere months later they had a reprint of it.
This is one reason I will not buy into any Image promoted box set.
One of my local shops are still trying to unload their Oblivion Song box.

      1. I went heavy on “Oblivion Song” boxed set and got most of what I ordered, did pretty good on the first wave at $200 retail .. 2nd wave, a couple months later, it’s Deadsville .. may still be a good long term hold, though ..

        1. Maybe but I’m not counting on it. Unless it becomes a huge TV show…. We can likely compare it to Outcast which did get a show and those books are worthless.

  3. With Diamond not showing any limitation on the number of sets, I don’t think it’s going to have a high level of investment value .. maybe a slight bump initially, but long term, probably not ..

    1. The sad part is, I can only see this set catering to those who have never read the comics. Most if not all the Walking Dead readers already have these in comic form. I wouldn’t spend $200 on these when you can find the past prints of compendiums, trades and special Michonne and Governor comics for dirt cheap at the local Half Price books.
I dust don’t see anything as being special or collectible if it’s not a limited edition (numbered) with a hard cover, maybe a signature of Kirkman and Adlard, perhaps a quick sketch in the inside, etc.
$200 gets me two more sky dives.. 🙂

      1. Spot on, Mr Poyo ..
$200 gets me some good “substance” .. medicinal use only, you understand .. 😉

  4. I’ll just stick to the hardcovers I’ve been collecting. I haven’t gotten the last couple, but I think that they collect either 18 or 12 issues.
