As always we also want to hear about your weekly pickups.
So, What were your pick ups?
What had disappeared off the shelves?

  1. Looks like Tom King is t done with his Batman/Catwoman storyline yet….50 more issues to go! I’ve really enjoyed Kings run, looking forward to seeing where it goes from here.

  2. Just headed back home from the Amazing Las Vegas show – had a Warlock 10, Captain Marvel 30 signed by Jim Starlin and Silver Surfer 34, 35, and 50 signed by Starlin and Ron Lim and got a Thanos sketch cover done Ron Lim

I bought a few books as well, Black Widow #2 Stephanie Hahn’s variant cover, Spawn 275 Amazing Las Vegas Variant cover, Fantastic Four annual 6, Eternals 1,2 Uncanny X-Men Campbell Variant cover All Star comics 58.

For this week I’ll try to go local tomorrow since all of our local shops are open and look for the new Captain America, I’m excited for this one, as well as Cosmic Ghost Rider and Death of the Inhumans and anything else that jumps out

    Happy July 4th

    1. Did you go to all three days of Amazing? I went on Friday only, due to Frank Miller signing at Torpedo on Saturday. I thought there were a lot of vendors selling comics, and quite a few bargains, including 1/2 off at one vendor.

      1. I was there both Friday and Sunday, Saturday I had a few other things to do I flew in from Ohio. Its my third time at the show and I always enjoy it, it was also nice to meet Matt Hawkins and the guys at the Top Cow booth. Did you have any great finds?

      2. Not much I was looking for. Found Lady Death 14 WonderCon variant for well less than cover. Went with a sketch of Lady Death by Buzz rather than purchase any comics this time. My brother found a few books, including a really nice Marvel Comics Red Sonja 1 for $10.

  3. Since I’m off tomorrow, I’m going to stay up a little late tonight and get some books organized. My car was totaled from that accident the other week, so I had to get another one last Saturday.

    1. Hopefully you mad out ok buying a new one. I am off the rest of the week and tackling the comic cave is on my list (and my wife’s list for me)

      1. Hopefully when you say it’s “on your wife’s list” she’s not making you get rid of anything…

  4. Been enjoying following you guys on the forum even though I don’t write in much. You inspired me to invest in a BA12 over the weekend. Picked up a CGC 9.0 for $430. Hoping it will be a decent investment.
Might visit the LCS before my 2:00 barbecue tomorrow.

  5. ASM 129 and 101 are a couple of spiders I have yet to pick up. Have almost all from #13 and up, lower grades, most VG

    1. My Grail is a #14…but I fear I shall never own one…although Anthony’s spec hits are slowly helping me accumulate funding towards one potentially…slowly…

  6. Loved the new angle for the giveaway this week, Anthony. So much fun reading everyone’s favorite covers and then looking up the one’s I didn’t recognize.
The above comment from D-Rog made me think of a fun question for a future giveaway: “What is your grail?” — i.e. what comic do you most want to own and actually have a chance at owning someday. Everyone would love to have an Action 1 but I assume that for most of us it’s not exactly a grail, more like a fantasy.
My grail is a low grade AF 15 and/or a highish grade Strange Tales 110.

    1. Af #15 for sure for me, we just recently passed on one so my husband could buy a Chrysler 300c and turn it into a Hydra moblie worthy of Red Skull. Prob never get to own a copy now unless the economy crashes hard. 2nd grail would be Xmen #1 have that one covered and graded. So if anyone wonders why I haven’t bought any comics in months it’s because Hail Hydra!

    2. Yup, a low grade AF #15 is on my radar as well…. Our son arriving last year put the brakes on that purchase for now, so wee will see if it gains traction again at some point.

    3. A low grade AF15 would have to be my ‘holy grail’. Ive slowly been knocking off some lesser grails from my list, such as BA12. The next ‘big’ book I think I am going to pursue is either Batman: Harley Quinn #1 or Tec880.

  7. Happy 4th everyone. No comics for me today. Just going to relax and have fun with my “out of state” fireworks later.

  8. On the road this holiday, stopped into a local shop in the area. I arrived a few hours after opening so some things were already sold out, such as Nightwing 46 variant. Grabbed a CGR #1 cover A and they still had several venom #3s so grabbed one that looked to be 9.8 condition to stash away.

Also grabbed some FCBD Marvel Rising #0s (9.8ish) as they didn’t have the shops information stamped on it. They had a ton and it’s free.

Stopped by Walmart too for the 100 page Giants. All sold out. Did anyone see these? I heard all walmarts released them July 1st…thinking speculators grabbed the lot of them instantly.

  9. Happy Birthday, America. I hope sll my Yankee comic buddies have a safe a happy holiday. Celebrate your countrys birthday by blowing up a small peice of it. ???

  10. So winners from this week. Nightwing cover b, both death of the inhumans variants, cosmic ghost rider variants are doing ok. The bumblebee 1:15 is getting some buzz (ha!) submerged is moving but not climbing. Capt america Mack variant wails but just too many out there. Anything else I missed?
