      1. It’s a cameo not the first app. Also look for the rare 1:25 variant video. High cover price so it was probably under viewed.

    1. Hope Hurricane Lane isn’t hitting Maui too hard! I bet the surge is bringing in some crazy waves though.. Stay Safe Alana!

      1. Should be around midnight Thursday we ready thanks for your concern. I live on a third story comics should be safe from any flooding.

      2. In our old place we would be packing up the comics in the truck every Tsunami/Hurricane Mayan end of the world warning etc….

  1. Very light week, yet again.

Venom 5 (for spec and a great read)
    MGDD 34
Mystery in Madripoor secret variant (Huge change for Psylocke)
JL Dark 2 (upside down man)

And that’s it. Time to catch up on some of my “to read” pile.

  2. Anyone else here go to terrificon this past weekend? It was my first con. I went on the last day as I figured the lines would be short if not non existent, but also because it eawas e only day Denny ONeil was attending. I had a Batman 227 and 251 I wanted signed by both Neil Adams and Dan. Dennis got held up in traffic, didn’t show up until 12:30. By then a long line had formed, and he announced he had a panel at 2pm so he was only signing for about 75 minutes. I was one of the very last to make the cut for a sig.

Shipped off to CBCS and maybe I’ll see it before X-mas.

Dennis is a nice guy though, hasn’t aged all that well, but was accepting donations for his signature for heroes initiative.

    1. How much was Neil Adams charging for his autograph? I passed the last time my local shops had him. First autograph was free (well, paid for by the shop owner), I can’t recall how much he was charging at the time, I just recall it being way too much.

I appreciate Neil Adams art but man, I just have this feeling the man’s eaten his wealth away with quarter pounders from Burger King..

      1. Neal has always been about his business. He also was a big part in helping Superman creators Siegel and shuster get paid for Superman, as DC was basically dropping a turd on their chests.

      2. $50 per signature. It is a lot. It’s not Stan Lee numbers but still seems very high. There were no lines for his booth.

        1. There never is. No lines probably tells the rest of us that most everyone else is put off by the amount he charges for a signature while most other creators are doing it for free.

      3. I do agree that his prices are too high. I actually wanted to get a book of mine signed and slabbed at last New Orleans con but it was actually cheaper for me to buy the same book at a higher grade already signed and slabbed.

  3. Does anyone know if “The 5th Element” has ever been adapted into comics? It just occurred to me that I really want to see a series based on the adventures of Ruby Rod!

      1. cool thanks. never knew any of that. so i guess if they ever do publish any they will be comics based on a movie that was inspired by comics…not holding my breath.

i guess i’ll just have to write my own comic series about Ruby Rod and his intergalactic shenanigans! i’ll need someone to draw it though. anybody here a comic book artist who loves the fifth element and especially chris tucker?!

  4. Wow #200 and still goin strong..congrats!

    Pick-ups:

    Cold Spots #1
Batman King of Fear Cover B
    Justice League Dark #2 A+B
    MG & Devil Dinosaur 34
    Oblivion #1 A
    Teen Titans 21 B cover
    West Coast Avengers 1 A
    Venom 5 reg

  5. I found my Gabby head shot variant today. I did not realize itvwas a 1:10. I grabbed the only copy I saw today. $8 US.

      1. I paid $10 CND (=$8 US). I dont mind paying ratio for it. It’s strictly PC for me. Gabby very well may be my favourite character to read, at this moment in time.

      1. They are gonna be tough to find in our neck of the woods, Brennan, I think. Being a 1:10 of a not so popular title.

  6. I actually went out to the shops today.

There were zero Obliv18n from Scout at two shops I visited. One shop had one copy of Mega Man Mastermix left.

Moon Girl Devin Dinosaur was slim pickings. Might be the only book this week that nets some flip profit if it takes off with a bit of demand.

Bill S. Batman Fear variant was plentiful. One shop that never gets Cover B’s had a huge stack of these. I passed and just want with the Kelley Jones cover A for myself.

  7. I started reading A Walk Through Hell series this week. The first 3 issues have left me wanting more. Eerie, odd stuff happening. Check it out if you enjoy horror/mystery. I also read the first 4 issues of Brothers Dracul. It was okay, but by the end of issue #4, I found myself wanting to know what happens next. Ive added AWTH to my pulls and I will be taking Bros. Dracul issue by issue.

    1. I’ve been reading both of this titles also. Love the Walk Through Hell series! I’m kind of on the fence with Brother Dracul, but it does keep hooking me at the end of every issue, and I keep coming back for more.

    2. That reminds me, I read issue 1 but need to read the others.. I might just take a break from life tonight and do just that.

  8. I just found out my local fanexpo next week is going to have Tec 880 Foil variants. It goes against my personal beliefs, but I am going to attend to pick up a few copies. If I can get enough at a good price, I hope to flip a bunch and buy a real Tec 880.

    1. Unknown comic books had 100 available for a short time today for $50. All sold out now. Glad I have an original and bought it at cover when released. A foil would be cool, but not $50 cool…

      1. I almost pulled the trigger and got one, but agree with the $50 price tag…too much! I also picked up the original for cover back when it came out!

  9. Had my best LCS find in a long time! Black Cat #1 JSC variant for $15, Also got Uncanny X-Men #19.NOW JSC variant for $30 at the same shop
Mostly getting back issue bin books lately…
    Invincible Iron Man #7 (Riri)1st print $10
    All-Star Comics #69 1st Huntress $15
    Shazam #1 $20
    Firestorm #3 1st Killer Frost $6
    Spider-Man Noir 2-4 $3 each
    Peter Parker #64 1st Cloak & Dagger $25
Marvel Feature #3 Killer Frank Thorne Red Sonja cover NM! $3
    Marvel Tails #1 & Peter Porker #12 $3 each

  10. Short list this week. Venom 5 and Moon Girt & DEVIN Dinosaur 34. Going to grab as many MG34s I can find in 9.8 shape as I bet the new cartoon will be Devin and not Devil. At least that’s what I’m specing this week!

  11. Reader week for me.
    ASM #4 – Meh
    Old Man Logan #46
Redneck #14 – One of my favorites
Cold Spots #1 – Liked it enough to pick up issue #2
    Venom #5
    Die Die Die #2
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #34

On a separate note, some of the offers people throw out there on the Bay are quite amusing. Sure, I’ll accept your offer that is 75% below my listed price. It gives me a chuckle every time.

    1. i don’t allow best offers anymore. Partially because I don’t care for low balls, but mostly because even when you accept them they sometimes don’t pay. At least with buy it nows they have to pony up the cash when they bid.

    2. I accept best offers, but I always counter offer with my best offer. This eliminates back and forth w/ low balls. (Eg. Im asking $20. They offer $5. I counter w/ $18 and a note saying ‘best offer’)
They now either decline, accept or dont read and counter w/ another low ball. They get a carbon copy of my 1st counter offer.

      1. If I don’t set a auto decline, I love messing with the real low ball offers by dropping the price by a penny. Any other offers after that from them I just decline and put them on the ban list. I don’t want to deal with clowns. These are the types of people who would make your life miserable if something went wrong with the shipment. I’d rather miss out on the sale than the potential headache the buyer will likely give you.

    3. I usually set an auto-decline setting to ween out the ridiculous offers but what I really hate is when they send a message that not only is a slap in the face unrealistic offer but they try to throw in the.. X amount + shipping? The attempt to shave off free shipping is just smacking you immediately after the first slap.

      1. I don’t have time for games. My price is my best offer. Take it or leave it…sometimes I still get messages asking if a price is negotiable…if it’s been on eBay a while I might budge a little…but I make it clear it’s only a few bucks off…but then they’ll come in at 25% off and ask for shipping be included…so I hear ya on the second slap.

    1. What If 30 (1991) has stories about Susan II and Mary Richards. Fantastic Four 15 (1999) features first Valerie.

  12. Good week of spec and reading pick ups!
    Reading/PC:
    Darth Vader #20
    Die!Die!Die! #2
    Venom #5 (standard)
Doctor Aphra #23 (Yoda variant for cover)
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #34
Batman Kings of Fear (Bill S variant)
Punisher #1 (Crain 1:25 variant for $8-too pretty for me to leave at that price)
The Ant and The Aardvark #1 ($10 Retro variant-used to love this cartoon when I was a kid and I had to spend the money for this. Limited to 350 copies).

Was very successful and found a ton of great spec books:
The Rejected (Source Point) #1 for $6-can’t believe what this book is selling for right now
Carnage #1 (2010 Zircher variant cover) for $2
Astonishing Ant-Man #10 Death of Psylocke Frison variant-2 copies for $3 each-one of my favorite Frison covers ever!
Unnatural #1 (Manara variant) for $1

    Good hunting everyone!

  13. Picked up Shanghai Red, Days of Hate, and West Coast Avengers (reg and Dodson variant).
WCA was a great, fun read, Shanghai moved in an interesting direction, and Days of Hate kinda feels like it’s treading water until something big happens.

      1. Ditto. Ales gives me the impression that he comes up with basic story telling concepts, doesnt think or see them through in any compete manner, writes a few uninteresting issues with no build up, then moves onto the next incomplete idea. Hes mining for media deals at our expense. Hard pass, all day.

        1. You nailed it, that’s exactly the impression I get as well. A term I haven’t used in quite a while.. he goes and Wiebe’s himself.

  14. Some solid pick ups this week!

    AMS #4
    Venom #5
    Life of Captain Marvel #2
    Die!Die!Die! #2
    Cold Spots #1
    Punisher #1
    Justice League Dark #2

From the HPB I scooped up

    Civil War: #2, 3 & 4
    Secret Invasion: 1-8
Rise of the Midnight Sons: 1-6
Invincible Iron Man: 1-15 (including Riri)
    Uncanny X-Men #164
and parts 6, 7 & 13 of the Maximum Carnage series finally completing my run!

  15. I brought 230 mint modern DC and Marvel comics for $23 from hobby game store that doesn’t mind selling comics at financial loss. Special sales every 3-4 months to reduce excess inventory.
