      1. It’s all about age…imagine if a new story came out where a boy got bit by a spider and then had spider powers and was named Spider-Man? Even though this is my fav comic if it just came out we would all think it was stupid. And we complain about new characters…every other issue of spectacular Spider-Man from the 70’s & 80’s introduced new horrible villains.

      2. That’s it! I’m creating a character right here on CHU! I call him Exhaust Pipe Lad! He was working on his father’s car but didn’t realize his dad still had some medical waste for some reason in a cooler in the back seat for some reason… Anyway, Lad…that happens to be is given name ironically, thinks the waste is a neat glowing snack left by his father so he eats it…Something happens where he feels sick, falls to the ground, grabs the exhaust pipe and boom its awesome power of carbine monoxide merges with our new hero! Now he exhales super concentrated carbine monoxide to force his enemies into submission…His Arch enemy? Suicide Squadron! (no affiliation to Suicide Squad) PURE AWFULNESS!

      1. For anyone who knows Spinal Tap 11 should be the goal number when obtaining hot/spec books! Everything is better when it goes to 11!

    1. Anthony I just got my three copies of rags 1 in. All damaged thanks to no protection in shipping. Sent in a single bag and board.

  1. Has there ever been a print run size mentioned for the standard issue of Rags #1. I grabbed one of only two issues from my LCS on the day of release (the other issue had a gnarly corner).

      1. Cheers Agentpoyo. If your right 1500 is crazy small. Thats like crowd funded comic small. It would also make it extra special for me as im in the UK up north with probably less than 100 copies in this country.

  2. Still have 15 copies of bronze age Eternals #1, 9 copies of issue #2 and 10 copies of issue #3, most high grade with a set of the price variants for the pc unless the price go through the roof. Early on I sold three copies of high grade #1’s and #2’s separately with a few sets of 1-3 when the rumors first hit and sold them at really good prices for the time. For the most part those sales paid for the 150 total Eternals books I have in one of my spec short boxes with some variants and Mark Jewler inserts…Mostly bronze age but also some ratio variants from the newer series that were dirt cheap not long ago. For the past four years or so I have been buying any Eternals comic that was being sold cheap, key or regular issue. So many first appearances through the sort run bronze age series! Glad I did. Good chance it will pay off. I hope the news is good news for the potential Eternals movie franchise. If not the huge, grand event I am hoping for at least those comics in the short box have been paid for.

    1. Thanks Anthony + Adam.
Forgot to say the above was my first post on CHU after being an avid reader for 18 months. Love what you do and I am now able to Mostly cover my modest comic buying with ebay sales of your weekly picks. I have emailed antarctic press to ask direct about Rags print run size. If I get a response I will let you know.

    2. The Eternal books you have if are sold around the time of a sequel because the first movie was so good and spawns a trilogy, those books will pay for a major key.

      1. We are on the same page!!! Also hoping the Rock/Black Adam becomes a big deal in the DCU. They need BA to work in a bad way! About four/five years ago I picked up 14 copies of Shazam #28 for pretty cheap. So far two have graded 9.2 with another three that should grade 9.0 to 9.4. “If” a Black Adam film hits with the Rock around the same time as the Eteranls franchise is taking off I “could” do very well. Anyway, still have 12 of the 14 I bought and the two I sold paid for close to half of the overall bulk. I was getting issues in high grade for about $20 to $29 and low grade for as low as $2. Greedy as it sounds I wish I bought more!

  3. Eternals #1 & 2 are potentially very good bets but if Marvel goes all in with the Eternals and the rumors of Sersi being a key character are true, Eternals #3 could be the big winner. If you don’t have #3 it is still fairly cheap in un-graded, high grades. Very low risk right now, considering. Also, this might be a bit of ret-con but Sersi in the comics, 616 universe is also Circi of Greek mythology who had a one panel, flashback cameo in Strange Tales #109. Something to think about, but Eternals #3 is the one to get overall for Sersi’s first.

  4. I found a copy of Eternals #1 in a short box for $10 a few months ago I great shape maybe a 9.0 or better. I have one more copy of Rags on the way, but I forgot to pre-order #2 so I have to try to get it on release day. I did pre-order #3 though.
