Comic Picks of the Week for Delivery 10/17/18

Each week, hundreds of new comics hit the stands, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 10/17/18:

Returning Favorites
Cemetery Beach #2 Impact Variant – This is an Homage to Hellboy, a book I love. I liked the first issue of Cemetery Beach so will be picking this one up too.
Killer B’s
Aquaman #41 Joshua Middleton Cover – limited to one per person at Midtown and selling out at other online stores. Middleton’s Mera covers are pretty popular. Selling well on eBay but at cover.
Batman #57 Francesco Mattina Cover – Sold out at Midtown already, great looking cover. Great PC book. Selling well on eBay but at cover.
Harley Quinn #52 Frank Cho Cover – Frank’s covers on Harley have been great. Making an awesome set.
New Image #1
Exorsisters #1 – The Ashcan from NYCC have been doing well. Giselle Legace has a nice following on line so this one could do well. The 1:25 has sold for $32.99 with free shipping.
New Marvel #1 Worth Looking At
Shuri #1 – Black Panther’s sister gets her own book. Six covers on this one so they are really pushing this book. Spoilers coming….
Venom Annual #1 – Venom’s first annual. Done by Donny Cates, I am looking froward with this one. Bill Sienkiewicz Variant has a variant for this one that I am digging.
Indie Gems
The Mall #2 – James Haick and Don Handfield’s The Mall, which got optioned for tv, comes out this week. It is sold out at Midtown.
Indie Pick of the Week
The Source #1 – Don Handfield, The Mall and The Rift. There are three covers on this one including a glow in the dark cover. Glow-In-The-Dark Cover  limited to 1:20 is doing well on sales.
Pick of the Week
Marvel Zombie #1 – especially the B cover which Tales of the Zombie #1 homages. This book is done by the creative team behind Ice Cream Man, Maxwell Prince and Stefano Raffaele. I really think this one shot may be under-ordered, and done by a hot creative team, could be a good long term pick.
That’s it for this week. Let us know what you are spec-ing on. And in case you missed it, here is our New Comic Spec Review for 10/17/18

    1. Not 100% sure but I’m going to go on the limb and say the source will be a big book this week. Already sold out glow-in-the-dark variant going for decent money Bieler cover going to decent money

    2. couldn’t agree more with the Sienkiewicz, along with the Marvel Zombie Hyuk Lee.
other than these 2 this week really has nothing that strikes me, don’t even have a read for this week 🙁
