Pre-Game Report: 11/14/18 Comic Sales

Books hit the shelves Wednesday mornings, but sales go on before that. Here is what our picks are doing on eBay going into Wednesday morning.
Very small pre-game report this week. Some weeks it takes longer….
Unstoppable Wasp #2 1:25 Vecchio Variant – Not many on eBay, sales as high as $37 (best offer taken) .

Black Order #1 Cover C Incentive In-Hyuk Lee Variant Cover – The monster of the week. Only one listed on eBay for $359…. Actual sales as high as $119.  So if you can get this below ratio, it might sell.

  1. Good angle on this report. Over time, nice job. Thanks for the info, it seems to help drive the moment by moment choices, this cover or that. I appreciate the skinny on the data. Skinny is good (until it’s not, ha ha).
    Best wishes!

    1. I think so. Only one cover, no variant, no incentive variant, no store variants, low order book with a great cover. If there is anything in that book at all, it will blow up in a very big way.

  2. The Dominoes in my area had some pretty ugly colour rub and minor tics on most of them. I saw 9 copies total, in 3 shops, and 8 were damaged. 4 of those being unsellable (i may have made that word up).

    1. Print quality is really rough. I preordered a good amount from different sources and they all share pretty much the same defects. This is a manufacturing issue, not a handling one. We’ll see where this goes in value….so far, so good.

  3. History would say In-Hyuk Black Order variants go for half of ratio and that’s only because of the Infinity War movie. Before the Infinity War announcement you could buy 1:75 Black Order In-Hyuk covers for $10

    1. Sign of the times and so much like the 90s, nothing spec worthy this week then the market will blow up a non key high ratio variant or an indie book so they have something to sell to the people with more money than sense on a dead week.

    2. I think, even as beautiful as it is, this book will plummet much farther than ghost spider #1. Black order and/or black swan have no where near the widespread appeal or staying power as ghost spider. After next movie I doubt we’ll ever see them again on the big screen.
