  1. As of 7pm eastern on Tuesday, Diamond is out of Batman Damned #2 Cover B, but still has Cover A available. I will be interested to see when Cover A does sell out at Diamond.

      1. I’m going with the Poyo logic always bet on A. To me, based on the cover I don’t see the hype on B vs. A to limit to 1 per customer.

        1. They likely switched to limit 1 per after Diamond sold out so they’re making it fair for customers to grab a copy. But yeah, I like Cover A better anyways. Lee’s work is good but honestly I think Bermejo is the superior artist between the two nowadays.

    1. Still some at a shop I know for cover. Don’t want to advertise here as I know it is against rules, so not sure if/how to let people know about them. Mods delete this if against rules please.

      1. Right on. Website is coverbcomics.com . They have both 1 and 2 in stock at cover price with a 1 per customer limit on each. They also have a bunch of other books and covers that this site talks about. Just figure I’d pass the word along.

      2. Right on. I ordered as well. Owner got back to me on the billing question and explained they are operating out of another friend’s business for the time being since they are always open during the day with full time employees on staff and can easily receive Diamond shipments, as well as let locals avoid shipping costs by allowing them to pick up orders there.

  2. We all know the BWL series is going to have a massive print run, but does anybody see any spec value in the numerous variants? I really dig that Dell ‘Otto virgin.

    1. When all said and done, when they do heat up years from now, everyone will be seeking out Cover A. Go heavy on these? Not likely. Unless Grim Knight makes an appearance and the character gains popularity, I don’t see this being valuable anytime soon even if Grim Knight does show up… it’ll be a while is what I think.

      1. Grim Knight is in the first few pages! An exclusive preview was posted onlineladt week, but I can’t remember what site.

    2. Seen the Mattina variant for BWL #2? check Mattina’s instagram page he posted a pic. Its pretty sick! But its a store variant for Frankie’s Comics. Federici is listed as the artist for Cover B

  3. I finally got all the issues of Immortal Hulk that I missed. I also ran across a really great copy of DC Comics Presents #47 maybe a 9.6 or better for $90, I checked prices but they seem to be all over the place. So that’s where you guys come in. Is that a good price for that comic or is it overpriced?

    1. Last 9.6 graded sold for $240. So if you get it graded there is a lot of meat on the bone. VF and NM raw are selling between $75 (I am guessing lower grade) to $129 high grade. I would try to wiggle them down a bit but doesn’t seem off.

  4. I’m a sucker for first appearances…..
    2x X23 #7 AandB
    BML #1 cover B
    Detective comics #994 cover B
    Damned #2 cover AandB

  5. Picking up today:
Black Hammer: Cthu-Louise for my daughter for Christmas since she likes Emi Lennox

    Pre-ordered:
Unnatural #6 Port City Comics Exclusive Variant by Anna Zhuo (signed, 500). Topless covers of this series sell well. However, the buy-in for this store variant is a bit steep. $12 unsigned, $17 signed/remarked, first 100 ordered sketched by the artist. I guess I don’t know the difference between a remark and a sketch. I thought they were the same thing unless a remark is a smaller sketch.

  6. Six phone calls so far today about Detective 994 Cover B. I checked eBay just to see if I’d missed something. Yes it’s sold out at Diamond, but no real push in eBay sales yet. I wonder if one of the other “hot new release” sites made a huge deal about it.

    1. I have not seen anytbing posted on any spec site that is talking up tec994 B, or A. It is mentioned in a few ‘picks’, but it has not been singled out yet, that I have seen. It is a neat cover with the reflection in the blood, imo.

  7. Great week of reads and spec pick ups!

    Pickups:
    Doctor Aphra #27
    Wonder Woman #60 (Frison)
    Batman Damned #2 (Cover A X 2 copies)
    Batman Annual #3
    Megaghost #1 (Special Edition)
Miles Morales #1 (1:50 Garbett variant for $20)

    Spec pick ups this week:
    New Avengers #11 and #27 ($3 each)
    Invincible #44 (1st Anissa)-$3
Walking Dead #98 Blind Bag B&W Virgin for $1

BTW, Immortal Hulk is a ghost around my parts. Not just issue #2, but I hit up 4 stores in the last week and no one had anything below issue #8. Getting ready for this one to start really heating up?

    Good hunting everyone!

    1. Ive been semi amassing issue #1 of that series. With all the buzz about that series, I was thinking some of earlier issues would go the way of Cates/Lemires Thanos series. I just listed my #1s today, about an hour ago, for $15 shipped. We will see what happens.

    2. In the last week I went on a tear picking up issues of Immortal Hulk. I think I have two complete sets along with multiple copies of #2. Also I added it to my pullbox at my main shop.

  8. I picked up a beautiful copy of Incredible Hulk #228 for $12 US today. It is the 1st appearance of Moonstone. Does anyone know anything about this Moonstone character? Ive never heard of her, but I picked up the book on a hunch.

  9. my Spider-women alpha 1:25 keeps rising .. wonder about its ceiling, glad I held on to it not many out there being sold

  10. Just some observations from my LCS which normally gets a ton of everything, including variants:

They went VERY light on the Mattina variants. They only had a few on the rack, and I grabbed the best one, the others were damaged. Didn’t have it in my pulls because the recent Mattains haven’t really been flippable due to heavy ordering.

Detective Comics cover A SOLD OUT! This particular LCS rarely sells out of anything mainstream, especially cover A’s, but this one sold out. My 2nd LCS sold out of cover B, and 3rd LCS sold out of both covers! If you can find either cover, grab it.

Very light ordering on the indy books this week, so anyone who was able to snag some of the hot ones will probably do good flipping them.

I was able to get 2 copies of Grumble (cover A) from last week’s bin

  11. Finds today:

Amazing Fantasy 1 (1st Arana) for cover.
    Amazing Spider-Man 365 $6
Grumble 1 Cover A (word bubble variant) x3 at cover
    Damned 2 Lee
    BmWLs 1 cover B

    No ‘Tech 994s.
    No Mega Ghost

    Didn’t look for anything else.

  12. LCS was sold out of Detective 994 and BWL #1 B Cover, and didn’t receive the Batman Damned #2 B cover. Other than those three, it seemed like the rest of the DC and Marvel books were available.

Here is the pull for this week:

    Batman Annual #3
Batman Damned #2 (Of 3)(Cover A Lee Bermejo)
Batman Damned #2 (Of 3)(Cover B Jim Lee) (Ordered this elsewhere)

Batman Who Laughs #1 (Of 6)(Cover B Greg Capullo)

    Electric Warriors #2 (Of 6)
Flash #60 (Cover B Derrick Chew)
