Final Order Cut-Off Highlights for 1/7/19

Final Order Cut-Off is the last day that shops can guarantee their orders for comics. After Final Order Cut-Off, or FOC, these books will only be available to retailers on Advance Reorder. And that is not guaranteed. So here are the highlights for Monday, 12/17/18’s FOC list.

DC

Batgirl #31 Artgerm Variant – Artgerm returns to Batgirl, he has done some really sought after, beautiful covers previously.

Flash Annual #2 – Battle between Flash and Godspeed.

Wonder Woman #63 B Variant – Jenny Frison is off the book, but the Shirahama variant on this one is great.

Flash #63 Howard B Variant – I am hit or miss with Howard Chaykin art, but this classic looking cover is pretty cool.

Marvel

Amazing Spider-Man #14 Guardians of the Galaxy Variant – Features Wraith on the cover who will be in the upcoming Guardians series. The first appearance in Annihilation: The Wraith #1 has shot up in price.

Tony Stark Iron Man #8 – Virtual Demon in a Bottle story. Great cover.

Ms. Marvel #37 – This is being called a key issue in the run. Ms Marvel is learning her new powers.

Journey Into Unknown Worlds #1 – New sci-fi series set in the Marvel U. Cullen Bunn writes.

Image/Indy

Spawn #293 Mattina – I have said it before, Mattina was born to do these covers. Mattina does dark covers well.

Middlewest #1 3rd Print – Not often you see Image books going back for a third print. This is Skottie Young’s hit series, so no surprise. Possible smaller print run.

Fight Club 3 #1 – One of the most influential movies (in my life at least). This will probably not have any spec love, but damn, I am excited.

Wyrd #1 – New Dark Horse series. Wyrd investigates things the police cannot touch. He is brought in to solve these problems.

  1. None of these inspire me to order now. The Batgirl 33 is sexy, but will be heavily ordered, unfortunately killing any spec value.

    1. Sorry, BG31. Yasmine Putri takes over starting BG33…as much as I enjoyed Middleton’s Batgirl run, it was time to end. It wasn’t getting better…in fact the poses were getting a bit dull.

Love Putri’s run on Red Hood. She’ll add back some excitement to Batgirl covers with her skills with action poses.

  2. I think the Iron Man cover will get hot and potentially underordered since it’s issue 8. I mean what goes better together than alcohol and Iron Man?
