  1. More good stuff! Still a little surprised not to see Eternals #3 in the top 20 but nice to see #2!

  2. I hate to be the one to say it but these list are complete bs. I can list dozens of books that have sold both more copies and at a higher percentage on eBay. Unsure of how they come to these conclusions since there are much hotter books out there. Lyria Comic Exchange is a much better and thorough and that’s fact not my opinion. 20 hot books through cover price or hundreds at lyria, No contest really.

    1. I’m looking through that Lyria place now and all they seem to offer is stuff over $150. http://www.lyriacomicexchange.com/completed-listings.php?age=63&view=ending&graded=0&bin=0&popular=0&min=150

That’s not a whole lot of help. Even Naomi and Immortal Hulk wouldn’t have most copies show up. I tried signing up to see if I could set my own list terms but when you click the sign up with Facebook thing it says app in development so that’s no use either.

Do you have a page that shows what sold the most copies, another that shows which had the highest sales in dollars combined for new releases this century for this week?

    2. Yeah, I get nothing out of Lyria except books I can’t afford already and won’t ever show up at my LCS.

I e found it best not to look at the specific percentages and numbers when it comes to covrprice because it’s a complicated algorithm they use…I’ve tried going through 6 months of their reported data and wasn’t able to figure it out…but I can say it’s been helpful in finding some quick flips I may not known about.

Take it for what it is…another way to look for hot books…not the end all determination of what is or is not hot that week.

      1. From what I can tell, Lyria seems to mostly create it’s hot list either based on number of bids (actvity) and or prices across all comic generations.

Now, this is a nice tool itself, what Covrprice is doing is a little more indepth and different. They’re doing algorithms that is focusing on new trends, not the ongoing more stable type trends. Sure there will always be ASM #300 being listed and sold. But what Covrprice is doing what I can tell is measuring and detecting new trends over a shorter period of time in the recent past to determine a book that was barely moving is now moving at a higher extraordinary rate than it previously was not just based on price or value but overall activity, new listings compared to previous number of listings, etc.

    3. Don’t get me wrong, I use as many tools as I can. I like this because it is a concise list of things currently hot. Lyria shows lists of individual books but not multiple sold. I use covrprice because they do a good job of showing which books as an aggregate are selling. Also use it to back issue dive at my ho eh hole. Not going to find many ASM 361 in the back issues or recent cover prices comics section. By all means, use whichever tool you like best, I use as many as possible. If you want to do an aggregate list of trending comics off Lyria we would be happy to run it.

  3. I just dug around some more and they have a message forum loaded with ‘Sticky” messages at the top from 2017 making the place appear dead and the “Mover’s and Shaker’s” hasn’t had anything move or shake since 2018 apparently.

It appears to be someone trying to drum up business for a dead site.

Even the General Discussion only has two topics from this year “Stan Lee and Conan”.

  4. I’m not trying to drum up business for lyria but it’s much better in my opinion. I remember the guy who started it and ran it from the comic price guide forums. I will say if you access it from your phone it’s not nearly as good. However from an iPad, laptop or pc it has more options to customize. I often go through the different ages choosing the comics to watch and it lists around 100 for each age. It sums up all the other choses and it’s a bit quicker.

    1. Todd. No one is disagreeing with you that it isn’t a good site. I use five to six different eBay analyzers myself including Lyria. I use them for different things though. Use all the tools out there I think is what I am always driving at. I use watchcount to see what books are actually selling for. I look at Lyria, covrprice, and others as well. I hope you don’t feel that we were saying you were trying to drum up business for them, because that is not what anyone is saying. But I use many different tools. For the site, I wanted to do a weekly top ten. I just like the one Covrprice does already so I reached out to them and worked out a deal to reprint their weekly list. I could put together a list of the top selling books from all ages by running my own search results but I like the quick strike one covrprice does.

    2. I accessed it from my computer and it still looks like a dead site and lists nothing any way I can see that doesn’t have a starting price of $150. I don’t even own a cell phone. The links to the forum, if you follow them show a dead site. Not a mention of Naomi, Immortal Hulk or anything relevant to most of the books selling on E-bay right now in qty.

“Lyria Comic Exchange is a much better and thorough and that’s fact not my opinion”

Your own words there but I don’t see any “FACTS” to back that up. If anything the “facts” show the exact opposite. Apparently this select stuff Ap software that popped up a message when I tried to sign up has been under construction since 2016 it seems.

I don’t like all the choices this one they referenced here uses as criteria but at the very least it spits out comic titles that I actually have and are selling right now between cover and stupid that many people can still afford.

If you’d like to double check the deadness it has a total of 9 comments this year.

  5. I use nothing but CHU, the Force, a friend that works on both DC and Marvel films, and Pym particles for time travel. All other forms of comic spec tools are obsolete for me. I try and go back and read comic spec sites I haven’t looked at for a year and binge their information but for the most part a bunch of garbage and nonsense or stuff repeated from comicbook.com and repackaged like it was their amazing spec tip.

    1. If I use a tip from comic book.com or cbr I always give reference to where I got it from. Always try to go back to the original source for movie and tv stuff (deadline mostly.)

    2. You and I use similiar sources, Alana. I use CHU, the Schwartz, a friend that works in the film industry and a Delorean for time travel.

  6. Namor books should tank back to $10 where they belong not coming to the MCU and good chance he never will.

      1. I believe that hints at Tigershark as the next Black Panther villain in BP 2. Feige confirmed they still can’t do Namor and that’s not what the underwater explosion was. There are a few Tigershark vs Black Panther battles throughout comic history.

  7. Hey! I found a copy of hulk 234 from this list at my lcs for $3 today!! Wouldn’t have known to look for it without this list! Guess you can still find little treasures here and there if you know what to look for. Thanks guys!
