Variants of the Week for 09/11/2019

This week I chose 13 books, and every single one of them with low degrees of liquidity. Only one really showed high Open Interest, presale.  4 are known home-run hitting cover artist. 4 are character storyline driven   3 are indies; one has Showbiz Buzz surrounding it, one of them is a new comer with show biz potential, and the other is the 4th printing.  the Craziest one?  Well I just like the cover.  Estimated Print Runs are best guesses using historical data, they are not meant to be used for not to be used for targeting, and are meant to demonstrate hypothetical demand elasticity.

Powers Of X #4 Cover D Variant Jorge Molina Connecting Cover

Estimated Print Run:20,000 . Pre-sales: +10 Pivot Point:  Highs of 40 and lows of 15 with shipping included  would put this around $25 come game day.  Let’s face it, it is a good looking connecting cover.  Pair it with its twin and you might have something.

KING THOR #1 (OF 4) ZAFFINO VAR

Estimated Print Run: 4,000  Pre-sales: less than 5 Pivot Point: In my opinion this is the best Old Thor cover to date.  Even though Zaffino does have a couple of heavy hitting variants under his belt (see  Dead Man Logan #4 and Immortal Hulk #2) speculators are right to be skeptical of its elasticity due to retailers selling it for $4 over ratio right out the gate.  A more appealing price would probably be around $18-21.

HAWKMAN #16 VAR ED YOTV In-Hyuk Lee

Estimated Print Run: 8,500 . Pre-sales: less than 5 Pivot Point: Even though this is an In-hyuk Lee, no-one is scared of this one not being on the shelves. The question for the readers, is there a more iconic looking cover out there for Hawkman?

CATWOMAN #15 CARD STOCK VAR ED YOTV Artgerm

Estimated Print Run: 20,000 . Pivot point: Great art but I think I’ll wait for some of the Comic-con variants

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE SYMBIOTE OF VENGEANCE #1 CODEX VAR AC

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE SYMBIOTE OF VENGEANCE #1 VIRGIN VAR AC

Estimated Print Run: Low conservative estimate 340 Pre-sales: less than 10  Pivot Point: Dark Age grabbed some momentum after Deadline reporting indicated that, Dark Age will eventually be a TV project. That momentum continues with 1:10 going for $20-25.  A more appealing price would probably be around $17-20.
CRAZY #1 GIST VAR(Correction Crazy comes out October 16th)

Flash Vol 5 #78 Cover B Variant Paolo Pantalena Cover (Year Of The Villain Evil Unleashed)

ONCE & FUTURE #1 (OF 6) (4TH PTG)

PANDEMICA #1 10 COPY INCV SANCHEZ

    1. I ordered the catwoman for the PC and King Thor – at 4$ over ratio, per i think Tony’s article there might be something at the end of it ? Waiting to see if he drops spoilers on it …. thanks Lucas !

      1. King Thor.. Aaron and Ribic are back again. I should have made this a pick of my own but I figured it was a given. Those two were the reason that made me a Thor fan. I’m really hoping this latest and last Thor run of theirs hits it out of the ballpark again. The first two arcs of Thor: God Of Thunder is still the best story I think that Marvel has put out ever.
