  1. Venom 18 is 1st appearance of Maker Hybrid. And it’s revealed that Dylan has the ability to make his eyes glow…

    1. Sleeper’s in his eyes just like most kids before you get them a morning bath. Nothing a good wash cloth wipe down while brushing those teeth can’t fix right up. You might check those ears while you’re at it.

  2. I need to go back and check to be sure they’re first appearances but even though I don’t like the art at all, Oblivion Song tops my read list this week for most interesting with the other dimension aliens getting some interesting developments to their side of the story. I just hope the movie goes a different direction than what the book art is presenting.

      1. Yes, that was the big reveal at the end of issue #12 I believe. Not just aliens, advanced with motivations and organizational structuring just now coming into light, especially this weeks issue. It may be the worst looking art for aliens I’ve ever seen so I’m really hoping someone with talent changes the look totally for the big screen. The story itself though is developing nicely.

      2. They’re called the faceless men and they’re not aliens, they are the intelligent native species. Earth’s dimension has humans, oblivion has the faceless men.

  3. Comments from hitting up comic book stores today:

No one had Once and Future (4th printing) at any store I stopped in

One store had 2nd printing for Something is Killing the Children (3 copies)-I think this will be the dark horse winner this week.

Saw one Codex Venom and they were selling it for $40.

    Good hunting

    1. I have preordered (prior to FOC) every subsequent printing of Once and Future and this 4th printing is the first one I actually received.

  4. Got me a few Venom #18 inc’ the wraparound still hunting a cheap codex variant, reading Isola still a great story, Daredevil #11 Chicchetto back on art, story is Marvel’s best right now with Chip Zidarsky writing, Evil Miles is back in issue 10 as Ultimatum, House of X and Powers of X #4 still keeping me on board, no real spec plays this week, as the Maker Hybrid is not the first Hybrid.

    1. Agree on the Daredevil! This last issue was really good. I think it’s a heck of a slow burn as well. Something major is going to end up happening in that book.
The entire “Come to Jesus” meeting with Lt. Cole and Spidey was really, really well done. The sort of comic book thing that makes you feel like it could or should be “real”. I thought it was great.
Very glad Chechetto is back as well.

  5. Comments from the Wed. hunt…

In addition to the routine pickups, my purchases included…

Captain Marvel x2 (loving the Brooks cvrs)
    Miles Morales Spidey – cvr A & 1:25 variant –
    $7.50
    Powers of X – cvr A x2 & Molina connecting
    variant – $7
    Venom – cvr A x2, Immortal variant, & Codex
    variant – $15
    Canto (loved the 1st issue…need to catch-up)
    Once & Future #1 (4th print) – $7.50
Something is Killing the Children #1 (2nd
print) x2 @cvr even though my reg. LCS
    was marking them up.

I also did some digging at another shop and found a Marvel Comics Presents #5 and Miles Morales Spidey #6 (1st Starling).

My reg. LCS sold out of Batman 78 (even though it doesn’t continue the story from 77) and Miles Morales Spidey 10 on Wed.

I passed on King Thor and Silver Surfer Black 1:25 variants @ $20 each. Can only purchase so many higher priced variants…have to prioritize.
