  1. Batman 366 is the first Jason Todd in Robin’s costume. 368 is when Batman actually accepts him as his partner.

Both books are keys for Jason Todd fans…368 has JT as Robin and the “official” announcement on the cover. 366 has a sweet Joker cover too, which the cover of Detective 635 (first Red Hood) is actually an homage cover where he Red Hood/Joker are swapped. (check it out…I just realized this…pretty cool).

Although the market doesn’t agree, IMO, BM 366/368 should be more valued than issue 357, JTs first appearance which is just a one (maybe two) panel cameo where he isn’t even called out by first name (he’s with his mom and dad and they’re introduced as the the Todds). First full is Detective 525 where I believe he’s called out by first name.

I had 357, 366 and 368 graded CGC 9.6…when I realized how lame the appearance in 357 was I dumped it. Took the $200 and bought a better key book.

    Just food for thought.

      1. Meh.

Batman 358…first full appearance and I believe cover appearance….much better book to own.

One of the better covers during that run too.

  2. batman #638 the reveal of Jason as the redhood is undervalued as well.batman #357 is more for killer croc then Jason todd .the other books are very key as there is a detective comics in the late 500s with him as well before batman #366 all I know is Jason todd is the bomb on titans love you all blind adam out

    1. Not sure 638 is undervalued. Reveal issues tend not to command much value. But I agree it’s another “key” milestone in JTs character history.

A couple other milestone issues are Batman 408 and 424. Did JT ever admit to pushing the guy off the penthouse balcony? I think it’s one of those great comic ending where it’s left up to the reader to decide what they believe he did.

The Jim Starlin run on Batman are some of my favorite reads. I miss the days of storytelling in a single issue for $1.
