Covrprice.com Runners-Up for 12/14/19

As promised, the Runners-Up list, think of these as the second part of the Top 20. Now then, on to #11-20.

#11 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 Retailer Appreciation Variant. This sold 15 copies, had a 7-day trend of 111% and had a high sale of $65 for a raw copy. This was one of the hottest new releases last week and sold really well… pending if your LCS marked it low enough to be “hot” for you.

#12 Venom Lethal Protector #1 (Marvel, 1993) Yeah, this one isn’t particularly interesting. $34 for a CGC 9.6 is a yawn, but whatever. It’s here. We will mention that Venom: LP #1 is starting to move again. Sales are picking back up each week. So, get those 9.8’s ready. This sold 10 copies, had a 7-day trend of 109% and had a high sale of $34 for a CGC 9.6.

#13 Fallen Angels #2 Peach Momoko Variant (Marvel, 2019) Peach is the hot new jam. Fans are buying up her current variants and tracking down the old ones. She sold 13 copies, had a 7-day trend of 74% and had a high raw sale of $30.

#14 The Amazing Spider-Man #363 (Marvel, 1992) Maximum Carnage is coming to VENOM #2. This leads right into MAXIMUM CARNAGE, which is what VENOM #2 is rumored to be the focus of the film. This is picking up. It sold 10 copies, had a 7-day trend of 75% and had a high sale of $56 for a CGC 9.8.

#15 Wolverine #1 (Marvel, 1988) This Wolverine #1 has been severely undervalued for years. While this is a little less so… it’s still the first issue to Wolverine’s first ongoing series. Expect to see prices for this go up when Wolverine finally gets announced for the MCU. It sold 13 copies, had a 7-day trend of 49% and had a high sale of $165 for a CGC 9.8.

#16 The Amazing Spider-Man #362 (Marvel, 1992) As we mentioned, Maximum Carnage is coming to VENOM #2. The beginnings of Venom/Spidey vs. Carnage really starts here. It sold 10 copies, had a 7-day trend of 40% and had a high sale of $135.50 for a CGC 9.8.

#17 Kill Whitey Donovan #1 (Dark Horse, 2019) This is “In Works As Movie At Hideout Pictures”, which pretty much means you have quite a while to track down a copy as it gets developed. It sold 13 copies, had a 7-day trend of 115% and had a high sale of $24.99 for a raw copy.

#18 Amazing Spider-Man #252 (Marvel, 1984) is a classic cover and is tied with Marvel Team-Up #141 for the first appearance of Spider-Man in his Black “Symbiote” costume. With more attention on Venom comes more attention on his early origins. It sold 10 copies, had a 7-day trend of 75% and had a high sale of $150 for a CGC 9.6.

#19 Wolverine #1 (Marvel, 1982) Another Wolverine #1 that has been severely undervalued for years. Even this week’s trend of $139 for a 9.6 seems too low for this classic. Though, with all the Wolvie heat, this is one to watch. Heck, you know what… this is going in this week’s “WHAT WE’RE WATCHING”. It sold 10 copies, had a 7-day trend of 61% and had a high sale of $139 for a CGC 9.6.

#20 Spawn #1 (Image, 1992) Spawn, Spawn, Spawn, Spawn… the name says it all. One definition of “spawn” is to “produce or generate, especially in large numbers”. Todd, you nailed it. It sold 14 copies, had a 7-day trend of 131% and had a high sale of $110 for a CGC 9.8.

  1. Main reason why Spawn #1 is on the list is because a dealer did an estate sale and sold those Spawn 1 in separate auctions

  2. I think this weeks hidden gems will be focoused on the earily venom apprances .true firsts, same with wolverine pre mini series e.g. uncanny x men #133 is the first solo wolverine .classic story vs hellfire club classic john bryne cover .o.k. have a blessed week love you all blind adam out

  3. “Maximum Carnage is coming to VENOM #2. This leads right into MAXIMUM CARNAGE, which is what VENOM #2 is rumored to be the focus of the film.”
