Covrprice Top 10 List for 3/29/20

Since Covrprice.com  came on the scene, they have become a go to spot for watching eBaytrends on comics. They scour thousands of eBay sales to cultivate data to spotlight the hottest selling comics. Here is this week’s Top Ten Comics: (Please note, potential spoilers do follow, and, these results are for auction that closed last week. )

#1 SPAWN #306 GUNSLINGER VARIANT (Image, 2020) This McFarlane Variant features the popular “Gunslinger Spawn” on the cover. For Spawn fans, this is an instant buy. It sold 40 copies, had a 7-day trend of 588% and had a high sale of $39.99 for a raw copy.

#2 THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #176 (Marvel, 1991) Yes, folks are even spec-ing on the Coronavirus. This issue features the first appearance of the villain CORONA. (Insert eye roll here). We don’t love that a book like this landed on our Top 10, but it is what it is. Folks bought 35 copies which gave this a 7-day trend of 382% and had a high sale of $40 for a NM raw.

#3 YEAR OF THE VILLAIN HELL ARISEN #3 (Marvel, 2020) There’s not much more to say about this first full cameo appearance of Punchline. It sold 78 copies, had a 7-day trend of 99% and had a high sale of $169.99 for a CGC 9.8.

#4 FANTASTIC FOUR #352 (Marvel, 1991) This issue features the first appearance of THE MINUTEMEN police force who are confirmed to appear in the Disney+ Loki series. It sold 24 copies, had a 7-day trend of 266% and had a high sale of $19.95 for a NM+ raw.

#5 NIGHTWING #70 (DC, 2020) This book hit big pre-sales thanks to Diamond using a poorly chosen descriptive word of “punchline” in their solicitations for this book, causing fervor that this issue would feature a full appearance of the new character Punchline. She does not appear in this issue at all. Hence, prices tumbled quickly. It still sold a huge amount at 111 copies, had a 7-day trend of 52% and had a high sale of $39.99 for a raw copy.

#6 BATMAN #89 (DC, 2020) The first partial cameo of Punchline is still moving books. It sold 50 copies, had a 7-day trend of 87% and had a high sale of $149.99 for a CGC 9.8.

#7 BATMAN #412 (DC, 1987) Speculation believes that the Batman villain MIME has some connection to Punchline. While this is a stretch, most copies were pretty cheap. It sold 16 copies, had a 7-day trend of 262% and had a high sale of $36 for a raw NM copy.

#8 BATMAN #90 (DC, 2020) The first full appearance of THE DESIGNER sold 38 copies, had a 7-day trend of 84% and had a high sale of $21.44 for a raw copy.

#9 COUNTDOWN #31 (DC, 2007) This contains a short origin of the Joker which alludes to there being three Jokers. It sold 24 copies, had a 7-day trend of 114% and had a high raw sale of $14.99.

#10 X-MEN #4 (Marvel, 1992) The first appearance of OMEGA RED (rumored to appear in Disney+’s THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER. It sold 27 copies, had a 7-day trend of 98% and had a high sale of $175 for a CGC 9.8.

    1. That’s why I saw a bump in our old TWD article about the Princess.. meh, nobody cares about the comic anymore. New characters don’t have same effect as they once did.

  2. BA goes on to praise krap collector, then preceded to explain why the news given by krap collector is wrong and to sell now while the lie that krap collector alerted too is still fresh in the sheep’s heads. Too funny.

  3. The Spectacular Spider-Man, Batman 412 & Fantastic Four 352 were in my $1 boxes that were going out in 23 boxes for a garage sale I was targeting. Corona obviously changed those Garage Sale plans, but I promptly pulled these 3 books from the dollar boxes and are now up on Feebay.
