Wednesday Open Forum

Wednesday

Wednesday, the best day of the week, new comic book day.

We open things up to hear from you. A free for all.

The 326th edition of the open forum!

We are going to start the retirement of the open forum. Make sure to sign up for the CHU Forum so you don’t miss out on the conversation. The ice and the forum are open to anyone and everyone, of course, unless you have been trolling the site with nasty comments, then we really do not care to hear from you.

Love to hear what you’re buying and selling this week.

As always we also want to hear about your weekly pickups.
So, What were your pick ups?

  1. Anyone else still destroying their house for “leprechaun’s day”? I got the trap set. Maybe this’ll be the year?

I never had this tradition growing up, nor heard of it until I had kids…and they came back from school talking about how the leprechauns were coming that night….

I’m like “wtf are they talking about?” Wife didn’t know either.

  2. I’ll say something about comics. I got a 9.8 copy of Marvel #6 1:25 Bermejo. It is as nice as you think it is. It’s absolutely stunning. Get one before they are $3000. On the other spec site on their Wednesday recap the guy says this may be the nicest cover EVER. Bermejo doing his best Alex Ross impression. It’s nice.

I wish Star War High Republic reprints were new art. 2nd, 3rd print cover art sucked and the 4th print is ok, but these are all just panels from the interior. Let eighth graders in art class create new overs for free as cover art. I’ll take it over rehashed panels.

The Bartel Spider-Woman #10 is maybe better than her she-hulk cover, and it’s sold out.

Can’t wait to read Orphan and the Five Beasts!

Does anyone collect DC anymore? 🙂 I know Agent Poyo is a big big fan. He’ll be watching the 4 hour Zach Snyder Director’s Cut this weekend of Justice Turds.

The new Superman title should be called Superman: Red, Blue and Blood.

    Is anyone reading ASM?…… Crickets.

Get a Nocterra glow in the dark. They are gorgeous and there should be 9.9’s and 10’s with this card stock cover.

The Hans Captain Marvel #27 1:25 is a home run. It’s a Hans.

  3. Is it common to get 14 out of 15 9.8’s? I just received my comics back from cgc and was very surprised. Admittedly they were all moderns but still happy.

    1. Depends on the books. Some Marvel’s with their thin covers can be tough to get 9.8’s but if you are picking your own copies you should be able to pull good copies.
