Covrprice.com Top Ten for Week of 5/7/21

Here is this week’s Top Ten Comics: (Please note, potential spoilers do follow, and, these results are for auction that closed last week. )

#10 SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN #1 LCSD 2020 FOIL | IMAGE | 2019 SIKTC #1 standard cover is on fire, thanks to recent rumors of a show coming to Netflix. While still not officially confirmed, sales have been climbing across all issue #1 covers. As most are well out of reach for buyers, this foil LCSD is the most affordable consolation prize for those who missed those early #1 covers. Of course, as sales increase… prices for these increase as well. It sold 50 copies, had a 7-day trend of 128% and had a high sale of $193 for a CGC 9.8.

#9 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #365 MARVEL | 1992 We know 2099 is coming to INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE #2. This first preview appearance of 2099 has been moving for a while now. However, sales really picked up this week with 65 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 97% and had a high sale of $40 for a raw sale.

#8 GREEN LANTERN #59 DC | 1968 Deadline is reporting that “Finn Wittrock To Headline ‘Green Lantern’ HBO Max Series As Guy Gardner”. This instantly increased sales and prices on Guy’s first appearance in Green Lantern #59, landing in the #8 spot on our TOP 10 this week. It sold 17 copies, had a 7-day trend of 402% and had a high sale of $900 for a CGC 7.0.

#7 CAPTAIN AMERICA #25 MARVEL | 2014 With Sam Wilson / The Falcon now the MCU’s Captain America, this issue instantly went from spec to Phase 4 staple. It sold 76 copies, had a 7-day trend of 98% and had a high sale of $630 for a CGC 9.8.

#6 PAPER GIRLS #1 IMAGE | 2015 Thanks to Deadline’s recent casting news: “‘Paper Girls’: Sofia Rosinsky, Camryn Jones, Riley Lai Nelet, Fina Strazza Cast As Leads In Amazon Series”, this show is quickly coming together. Market confidence in this title helped move 60 copies, had a 7-day trend of 133% and had a high sale of $250 for a CGC 9.8.

#5 MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS #72 MARVEL | 1991 Recently, there were VERY loose rumors of a WOLVERINE Anthology series for Disney+. While this news seems very unlikely, it still sent collectors to this first series that dived into his origin. It sold 96 copies, had a 7-day trend of 110% and jumped up by $200 this week with a high sale of $850 for a CGC 9.8.

#4 BATMAN FORTNITE ZEROPOINT #1 DC | 2021 Sales fell significantly from a HUGE 389 copies sold last week to 122 copies this week. Yet, it still had a 7-day trend of 97% and a high sale of $45 for a raw copy…. Which helped it remain on the list this week. Fortnite plates are still actively seeking these out to get those download codes and happily paying for them.

#3 SWEET TOOTH #1 DC | 2009 Last week Netflix officially dropped the trailer for the SWEET TOOTH show, produced by Robert Downey Jr…. and it looks fantastic! This looks to be a faithful translation, which surprised fans who didn’t know what to expect. Sales immediately started moving. It sold 33 copies, had a 7-day trend of 431% and had a high sale of $545 for a CGC 9.8.

#2 MARVEL SUPER-HEROES SECRET WARS #3 MARVEL | 1984 This issue features the first appearance of Titania (Mary McPherran/2nd version) and Volcana. However, this book is now trending due to recent rumors of Titania possibly showing up as the villain in the Disney+ SHE-HULK series. It sold 64 copies, had a 7-day trend of 230% and had a high sale of $385 for a CGC 9.8.

#1 BLACK WIDOW #6 MARVEL | 2021 This issue features the first appearance of Lucy Nguyen aka Marigold, who becomes Natasha’s protégé. Since we live in a world where first appearances are gold, this sold 82 copies, had a 7-day trend of 418% and had a high sale of $26 for a raw copy.
