New Series/#1’s
Absolute Power #1 – Regular Absolute Power series kicks off after last week’s teaser book.

Annihilation 2099 #1 – Who is the Last Nova, and what great tragedy does he carry on his back? Is he the inheritor of the NOVA CORPS or its destroyer?

Free Agents #1 – Giant-Size! Bargain Price! An all-new ongoing series! Kurt Busiek (Astro City), Fabian Nicieza (Deadpool), and Stephen Mooney (Half Past Danger) introduce a team of young veterans, survivors of a massive intergalactic war. Salvo. Pike. Katari. Shakti. Ridge. Maraud. Chalice. They’ve fought every day of their existence and won a terrible victory. Now they’re stranded on Earth, free agents for the first time. But when relics from their long war appear, threatening their chance at better lives, their greatest battle begins. They’ve fought for a million planets. Can they fight to save their own souls?

Guinevere And The Divinity Factory #1 – Pocket Jack Comics – Like Harry Potter, but slutty. A former stripper seeks to become a spell casting witch. She attends a party by the Great Wizard Gatsby who gives her an amulet to see into the spirit world and sends her on a quest to demonstrate her character.

Grendel Devils Crucible Defiance #1 – Will never let a new Grendel book go by without mentioning it. Grendel Prime has returned to Earth, but things are not as he left them. The pockets of humanity that remain and the “Necro Lords” that rule them have turned against Grendel. Grendel Prime will need to hide his identity as he explores his suddenly hostile home planet.

Soul Taker #1 – Mad Cave – Amarantha is the last of her race, an ancient species that has lived among us for millennia, feeding on the life energies of humanity. Now enjoying a peaceful existence in a retirement community, she continues to consume just enough to survive. But Amarantha has made enemies throughout her long life and an ancient foe thought long defeated has returned and is out for blood, while a newer threat seeks to capture her for their own nefarious purposes! Now Amarantha must do everything in her power to vanquish her enemies and protect the life she has made for herself.

Star Wars Inquisitors #1 – Buried in the annals of Jedi lore is the story of TENSU RUN, the Jedi who faced the Inquisitors and DARTH VADER! What became of him, and why did the EMPIRE so greatly fear his existence?

Thundercats Cheetara #1 – First Thundercats spinoff book kicks off with some great covers.

Wolverine Deep Cut #1 – Back in UNCANNY X-MEN #246, Logan set off from the Australian outback, leaving behind what was left of the X-MEN, for a personal mission. Now, after decades of mystery, Chris Claremont reveals just what Wolverine got up to before his classic battle with the REAVERS!

One and Done
Werewolf By Night Blood Hunt #1 – As the BLOOD HUNT wreaks untold havoc across the Marvel Universe, one of those affected in most unexpected ways is the WEREWOLF BY NIGHT! Imbued with NEW ABILITIES, a NEW LOOK, and a DANGEROUS NEW DIRECTION, this Werewolf by Night is UNLIKE ANY YOU HAVE SEEN OR KNOWN BEFORE! Starring JAKE GOMEZ

Notable Reprints
Jim Hensons Dark Crystal Archive Edition #1 – Classic Marvel comic adaptation of Dark Crystal gets a Facsimile.

Pick of the Week
Spider-Man Reign 2 #1 – Follow up to the hugely successful and somewhat controversial Reign series from many years back. Introduces a new character named Kitty Cat (think Black Cat of the future)

  1. these books coming out every Wednesday have no investing incentives whatsoever. Do yourself a favour and stop collecting modern books for that purpose. If you enjoy the stories….fine. 6 to 7 dollars a book?? no thanks. Sheep is what keeps the industry alive. Everyone follows everyone. Live and learn I guess.
