The book, which came out on Wednesday, had a print run of 3,888 copies and the second issue will have an even small print run. It sold out before SDCC according to Bleeding Cool. A second printing is coming.

So whats the story?

    1. A and B are equally split. C is 1 in 5 So there are roughly 1,555 copies of cover A, 1,555 copies of cover B and 778 copies of cover C

  1. oh wow…thanks for the info. I just picked up copies of covers B and C from mycomicshop.com. could not find at any of the other online shops.

  2. Cover B – $2.99
    Cover C – $8

just checked the site again…they are both coming up as not available. So either I purchased the last copies or they limited them 1 to a customer.

  3. Mile High Comics had some Issue B in stock, or for order. No knowing whether they are sold out yet.

    1. Mile High has been known to be a little hinky with their shipping…. I will check them out though. I have copies up for sale on ebay but I like money and wouldn’t mind getting a couple more.

  4. Get these while you still can, news is getting out fast. I just purchased A, B, and C for cover price at a local comic shop but some stores are asking $25 for cover C and are hanging on to the little stock they have to see where this takes off to.

  5. I just picked up covers A and B for BIN on eBay for $24.95 plus $3.95 shipping. From the pictures, both looked to be in NM so it’s hard to pass up at a lower cost since I’m seeing most listed at $39.99 or higher for A&B and $100+ for all 3 covers.

These are really limited, I don’t think my usual shop even ordered any.

    1. Not many did as it has a couple of things going against it. It is not from a bog publisher, in fact the publisher is not one heard of before. 2. The creators are unknown. 3. The characters it is based on are classic, but this take is untested. 4. It’s “urban” and woman and minority characters just do not sell as well.

  6. Hey folks, Im pretty surprised at the RAPID speculation for the book. But a couple of things to clarify. There was only 3388 orders from diamond. We ordered about 500 extra to “refill”. Second, because we were’nt covered by the major comic sites, and diamonds tough final cut off policies, our number #2s are about 2100. We may overprint just make up for demand. I stand by the work we do, and the successive issues are even BETTER. We have Chuck Dixon, Steve Grant (2 guns movie!) Hannibal Tabu, Larry Stroman, and Dennis Calero on upcoming issues.

Comicflipper, our creators are not UNKNOWN. Karl Bollers had a 7 year run on sonic the hedgehog, and those kids who grew up on that book are in their 20s now. Rick Leonardi has been in the business for over 30 years and is known for xmen, cloak and dagger and Spiderman 2099 (who they are bringing back and hyping up, he designed the costume, and was responsible for its initial popularity)

On urban and minority characters not selling as well, you could be right, but Im not expecting 30-60K sales monthly. The minority market is also underserved. A good half of our audience has been women, and sherlock fans. Dont underestimates them.

    1. I’m looking forward to reading them now, definitely seems interesting and I likely would have picked it up if my comic shop had stocked them. I’ll be mentioning them now. 🙂

  7. Hi Brandon thanks for joining the conversation. The comments were not meant to be disparaging it was meant to show why some shops did not order the books. I fired off an email to you.

  8. Great to hear from Brandon and get some insight into the frustrating part of promoting a new comic book from a small publisher. I thought the book sounded great and I had ordered copies and I may have been the first person to get the hot back issue prices online for them. I look forward to seeing this series become a hit.
