This one falls into the “Incredible hulk 180 vs. 181” argument. This means which one is the first true appearance, the cameo of full appearance. Needles to say, the first cameo of Doomsday is in Superman the Man of Steel 17 and the first full appearance is in #18. Regardless, both comics are shooting up in value, especially Man of Steel #17.
SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL (DC 1992) #17 has jumped up on ebay and is selling well. There are copies on eBay that are still starting at low prices (.99 cents.) The hoopla is that actor Jason Momoa has signed on to play Doomsday in an upcoming Superman movie. you can read all about that here.

Also worth to note, the 2nd printing actually fetches more money in this case, it’s harder to find with a definite lower print run. You can tell the difference as the 2nd printing has White Lettering on the cover.
Also seems the UPCs with actual bar codes will fetch a higher premium as well, as those were the newstand editions and finding one in a higher grade is a bonus for sure.
