Comics Picks of the week for 2/19/14

Each week hundred’s of new books come out. Each has potential, but let’s be honest, not all of them live up to that potential. Each week we pick the books we think have the best shot. Here are our picks for delivery on 2/19/14:
The one we are rooting for:
White Suits #1 Frank Barbiere’s new book. If you don’t read Five Ghosts you are missing out. Besides being an awesome guy Frank is a hell of a writer. His new book shows a lot of promise.
The Outside chance:
Loki Ragnarok and Roll #1: Boom Studios is due for a hit. This book is the outside chance.

What happens when Odin banished Loki to Earth? He finds a world of outcasts that appreciate his style! While his kin sharpen their weapons, he picks up an electric guitar.

The New Image book:
Undertow #1 Looks and feels like The Wake.

Atlantis is the world superpower, and Redum Anshargal is its worst enemy. If you want to break free of the system, he can offer you a place at his side, exploring the wild surface world in his watertight city barge The Deliverer. He and his hostage-protege Ukinnu Alal hunt the Amphibian, a legend that could be the key to an air-breathing life on land. But as they become the hunted, can Anshargal’s team survive long enough to turn the tables on the godlike beast they set out for? A brand new pulp monster adventure with Ray Harryhausen at its heart and a look at Atlantis like never before from the up-and-coming team of writer STEVE ORLANDO (Mystery in Space) and artist ARTYOM TRAKHANO

The follow up issue:
Curse #2 The follow up to Riley Rossmo’s new werewo;f book. #1 really impressed. Did I mention, Boom is due for a follow up hit (besides Day Men that is.)
Let us know what you are spec-ing on this week.
