But, as we have been suggesting for a while now, they are not saying it is a reboot. Marvel released news today in the “announcement to end all announcements.” The Civil War event will bring together the Marvel Universe “616” and the Ultimate Universe, with only one surviving.
In actuality, more universes are coming together than just the 616 and the Ultimate universe. What will end up will be the new Marvel Universe. It has been described as “Two pizza’s being smooshed together with the toppings all coming mixing.” What ever is left over afterwards will be the new Marvel Universe. So as we have seen Miles Morales in the “616”, that could be permanent, 2099 Spidey too.
So while it is not a reboot as they call it, both Universes are ending and what is coming out of it is Battle World. Tom Brevoort was quoted as saying “The Marvel Universe as you know it is done. The Ultimate Universe as you know it is done.”
So what do you think, a reboot, a retooling, or just more of the same old foolishness?

I think Marvel is trying new things, but I don’t put it past them to revert back to what was. It’s like them killing characters off, they eventually make it back.
Disney is trying new things, with Marvel. I highly doubt it will ever go back to Marvel as it was.
At least the marvel cinematic universe is acceptable so far.
I think thats the direction they will end up in
The Punisher (2004) will go down as the only Marvel movie to have breasts in it. I hate to even think of a Disney Punisher reboot.
Do you remember in the 1990s when wolverine had to stop smoking cigars that was pretty Disney
you got me there
Lol. I gave up on reading marvel a long time ago.
I have become so cynical of these events. I can’t help but feel they just want to load the shelves with #1 issues. Then later they can reset or revert and do it all over again.
Only time will tell, but on a positive note – we may get some good specs!
I agree.
