First two Comicsheatingup.net exclusives out of the box

Just for show. Thanks to everyone who ordered them. Here are the first two Enormous #6 Comicsheatingup.net exclusives out of the boxes. They were sent straight out of the cases and straight to CBCS for grading.
In fairness, pulled them off the top of the first stack in each box didn’t matter what grade they came back. These are the actual first copies out of the box. Sadly, CBCS would not certify them as first copies out of the box but I know the truth.

Most proud of the labels having the website on it.

And finally, some books back from the Scott Snyder signing. I sent these all in 1/20/15 and got them back in less than 30 days on fast pass. Well worth it.

  1. 9.4 on your Blank Enormous was tough! Maybe you should have grabbed the second one in the box! Congrats on some great exclusives, and thanks for making them available to the rest of us.

    1. Lol but then it wouldn’t have been the first one. I am not worried about the 9.4. It will never be sold. I am grabbing a couple of slab frames and hanging them on the wall for the “see what I did” effect. I am proud of them.

  2. It’s too bad the Batman only ended up at 9.4 but still a nice comic. I’d be scared to send mine in, I think it’s a 9.6 but it’d probably come back a 9.4 as well.
Did they knock the Blank Enormous down due to the printing bleed? All very nice though.

    1. Yeah, the batman hurt. I was hoping for higher but even a press wouldn’t have helped from the grading notes. It was a book grabbed off the shelf and read but still Snyder signed is awesome. I submitted another Batman 1 for a Chu reader signed by Snyder and it came back a 9.8.

  3. Nice slabs. I haven’t cbcs yet but had a question. I have a few signed comics I wanted graded but didn’t have the money at the time for cgc so I heard cbcs will authenticate and grade. How would I go about it im not really a fan of cgc. Thanks in advance.

    1. Nick they will red label a signature. The red label will authenticate the signature but it is unwitnessed. It is better than a green label I would say but there is a cost to it. I have some books with 10 signatures that would cost me a ton to have authenticated but 1 signature is worth it.

  4. nick,
When you send in a book to CBCS there are a few options you can select. Among those options is their un-witnessed signature add-on, VSP. They charge $25 for the first signature, plus $15 for each additional signature on a single book.

  5. Way to go sir. I agree that framing the books is the way to go. I have a bedroom in the house that has all my classic rock records on the wall and another with comics. I’ll never cease to be a fanboy haha
